Dear Suzanne or any one who knows about it...,
I am a foreign graduate having RN licence from Vermont SBN currently in UK. I got a job offer in CA. Now, I need to endorse my licence to CA. When I checked their website, I found that they need SSN to issue licence. But, my employer need either CA licence or a letter stating that "I am eligible for CA licence provided SSN" for immigration petition. If I apply without SSN, will they give letter like that? Also, Do I have to go thru nursys to obtain this veryfication or directly contact Vermont SBN? Do they (CA) need transcript from school of nursing? If so, from where I can get that form?Only these two forms to be filled or anything else? Pls help.

CA will accept Nursys.......................and CA will issue you a temporary license without the SSN#, they will not issue a permanent one without it.
You just need to submit the application called License by Endorsement and then get processed thru Nursys............and you are all set.
And yes, CA will not issue a hard license without actual school transcripts.
Hi,
Thanks for your reply...
Temporary licence will only valid for six months and I will not be able to go within that periode. That case, If I go without temparary licence request, will they give a letter saying " you are eligible to get RN licence subject to receipt of SSN" to satisfy immigration?
Also, only Nursy's verification is enough or I need to send verification to Vermont as well?
Pls advice
Letter is just fine from them, and Nursys takes the place of Vermont having to submit anything.
Where did you get hired here?

I have NM license, I need to endorse it to CA, can I fill up the form of License by Endorsement?
since I need to send nursing school transcripts to CA board to get permanent license, I have CGFNS certificate, can I ask CG to help me send my school transcripts in stead of asking for my nursing school to do it? since CG has already reviewed my transcripts.
once I have CG certifiate, does it mean that I meet the requirement of CA license?
thanks very much!

You can use the form for License by Endorsement for CA since you already have a physical license.
Does CGFNS actually have a full set of transcripts for you? Remember that for the exam, the school actually needs to fill out only that one form, I always say to have everything sent since they are needed for the Visa Scren Certificate.
CGFNS does charge for sending the transcripts, but they will be accpeted by CA BRN.
Since you have a BSN, then you have more than likely met the requirements of CA. They do their own credential check and verifiction. And their requirements are slightly different from CGFNS.

If I apply from NM to California by endorsement how long would it usually take?
If CA receives verification that you have an actual license in NM, and that is from the BON, not from seeign your copy, you can get a temporary license issued that same day in the office in Sacramento. Again, they will not issues you a permanent license until you give them a SSN#.
Wow that fast? But does NM give you a permanent license given that you passed the NCLEX exam even without a SSN?
