I applied for fall 2011, anyone else. Does anyone know how many applicants they usually have for the lottery?? ANy information would be helpful.

Did anyone apply for the Butte RN program for Spring 2012? Just wondering if anyone heard anything yet because I haven't and it's my 4th time applying so I think my chances are pretty good.

It's my 4th time as well and I have been anxiously awaiting an email saying something, ANYTHING! Glad to hear I'm not alone

Ok I called the nursing school and they said they are doing the lottery on Oct. 10th. Good luck to everyone!!!

Got my email this morning - 4th time applying & wasn't accepted. Argh! The wait goes on...

I was also denied for the 4th time so I know how you feel kcsmira... I guess they cut the classes in half. They were accepting 50 student now they are only taking 25....and every spring they accept all the veterans...the lady told me we could wait up until our 6th time applying to get into the program.

This is crazy! I'm trying to so hard not to be discouraged here, but it's been 5 years of work and they keep making it more difficult to get in to the Northern Ca schools! I live in Sacramento and the Jr. Colleges down here have even thrown me for a loop. If this hadn't been my passion and goal for the last decade of my life I would have given up already - I could have been an RCP years ago!

Butte RN program has had severe budget cuts and this has cut their class sizes to 24:crying2:. In the past they were accepting veterans every spring due to requirements put forth from the grants they were receiving, this is no longer the case. It was hard before to get in and now its even harder but Butte is a great program. Good luck to you all for the next try. :redpinkhe

Notification are going out this Tuesday April 10th after 1:00pm according to Buttes Nursing Dept. Its my 4th time applying so I hope I get it this time. Good luck!

Hello All,

Just to clarify everything I went in and asked a few questions.

I just had my 4th lottery, she said it is about a 3% chance the 4th time. They have had a huge number of applicants and the program was just cut in half.

She said the AVERAGE wait was 6 semesters, and will probably become longer. Sorry for the bad news everyone! I am giving up on Butte, they promised me 2 years wait MAX two years ago... and now another, possibly more.

I am surprised anybody is waiting any longer?

I am going to get on the year long wait lists of other in California schools as well as some out of state ones with lower Out of state tution.

Its sad because I was really excited to go to butte. :(

Does anyone know if you can apply for the LVN and the RN program at the same time?
