does Burn count as ICU

Published

I'm a new grad got a job in bicu at a level 1 trauma center and the unit is the only one in county that's burn verified... does burn count as ICU EXPERIENCE?

I made it into a CRNA program from a burn unit. You just need to present the unit's strengths. No doubt i feel that my cvicu classmates are a bit more prepared... I recommend contacting any specific programs you may be applying to.

I'm glad to here you actually got In to a program. Very Inspiring. I'm sure you have had to work little more harder than your cvicu mates. But you are in that's what important. It can be done yay!

I would NEVER trade my burn experiene for anything! Those burn survivors are so inspiring and the staff is so dedicated and compassionate. I have never seen anything like it before or since!

It was difficult to leave...enjoy your time there.

Which unit are you in?

You should be fine as long as you manage vasoactive drips and intubated patients.

Great thank you ;)

Fyi the all crna schools site is known to have a lot of incorrect info. Either from getting info from strange sources or not updating. I saw a lot of errors when I first found the site, had to do a lot of digging. Just don't take it as written in stone.

And good luck to you! Do they still use leeches?

About the all crna schools site: definitely contact the program you are interested in (preferably the director) before applying. One take Burn experience, some don't. But many do.

Thank u both for the advice will do☆
