Burlington County College Nursing Program Hopeful

U.S.A. New Jersey

I went to the admission's office at BCC today and they told me to come back in October for the intent to apply Spring 2013 application. Is this right? Can anyone tell me how long the wait list is. I am currently a BCC student and have most of my prerequisite course work completed. I only need 10 more credits ( micro, A&P II and PHI ) and it seems a rather long time (From now to spring 2013) to take just those 3 classes without being able to go any further in Nursing :( sniff sniff. Any inputs? Will greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

Hi! They like to see all pre-req's finished before being admitted. So if you took all 5 of your remaining classes this fall and applied this coming Fall to start Fall 2012 you would most likely get in (if you have good grades and live in county of course). I will tell you that I did that same combination of classes last fall myself and that finished up my pre-req's. I mailed my application Nov 1 and I did get accepted and am starting the program this wednesday. BUT I have to tell you unless you are very organized and determined that it is a hard combination of classes to do, let alone manage to do well. I did manage that but it took a lot to do it for me. Micro and A & P II are the hard combo part and I guess it depends on which Professors you get. I did have to sit out the spring semester being I had finished all the required classes, but that seems to be the normal routine for all who get accepted from what I can tell. If you split up the classes to do them over 2 semesters then you would need to apply to start Spring 2013, which is probably what they would recommend as I know they don't recommend doing that combination of classes knowing it is hard to do well at from all I've heard and experienced. From what I'm told I'm in the rare group who managed to do it...but at the cost of family time, additional grey hair and lots of coffee!! lol!!

So if you apply during the semester you will finish your last pre-req class you will typically be accepted for that application, but you'll sit out a semester the way it is set up. Just study hard and keep the goal in mind and you'll get there! It felt like it would never happen for me but it is and I couldn't be happier about the next level of stress I'm about to experience! lol!!

Thank you for your reply. If I take the classes this fall and apply on November the classes will be ongoing and not yet credited. Will that affect acceptance?

On another note, I hope you and your family are keeping safe with the adverse weather. Keep safe.

Congratulations and good Luck with starting the program on Wednesday.

If you take all the classes this fall and apply in November you are fine, they don't look at the actual grades until after the semester ends in December but you need to apply on November 1 as the applications are taken in the order they are received and the first ones in that meet the requirements they're looking for are the "winners".

I hope you and your family stay safe as well :0) Best of luck this fall, you can do it just keep your nose to your desk!!

[color=#8b4513]you definitely need to finish all your prereq's. they seem to advertise that they will accept you otherwise but it's really not how the program is. i don't know of anyone in my program that has prereq's remaining and i'm entering nur120 this fall. good luck!

Good luck in 120! I loved 120, don't know of anyone who didn't!! Keep studying hard and you'll do great!!

Burlington County is in South-Central NJ, closer to Philadelphia; about 90 minutes or so from NYC.
