When I started Nursing School in 63 it was at the BSN School of Nursing at USC and I did 2 1/2 years there. Circumstances, money etc and the fact my husband was drafted and sent to Alabama- I dropped out. When we moved back here we had 2 kids, a mortgage and very little money. A friend told me about USC having an ADN program and that's what I ended up doing. I took 3 classes, Aced the boards and became an RN. Got a BA in another area while we were out of state. So yesterday the 50th anniversary brochure arrived lauding the Nursing program, how great the deans are, how great the students are, how.........but NOWHERE do they mention the hundreds of ADNs they taught and who had a higher Board rate passing than the BSNs. My little feelings got hurt. I'm not blasting the different programs, my ADN program hit the circular file about 10 years ago. If I had the money I coulda, woulda, shoulda finished BSN, But I really wonder if they actually are denying they had an ADN program ever. Makes you wanna go grrrrrrrrr.

Whenever I come across something like this that burns me up...politics, news, bad customer service, etc...I write a letter to the appropriate person/place and give my opinion of the given situation. When I send it, I know someone, somewhere will read it. And though they may throw it away after doing so, it's a release for me. Because I never know if they DO throw it away (other than a couple of Letters to the Editor in our city's major newspaper), I release my aggravation when the letter is sent. Stinks, though.
