Hi,
I have just returned to Buffalo as well, having been a travel nurse. I was excited about finding work here, but after countless resumes being sent out and a few interviews I have had no responses but form letters.
I am an R.N. with a variety of experiences over 20 yrs +.
I was offered a job paying me 15.00 per hour in a new MD office where they were doing things not according to protocol. When they get audited I will not be there.
Good Luck to you. I am not sure what advise I can give you but to go to Nursing homes.
I was called and offered another travel job in NY state for a 6 week contract. It will buy me more time and replenish my bank account:yeah:
Wow!!! Thanks. Although that is aweful news it is good to have a realistic idea of what's out there which is obviously nothing!! I want to go back to school to get my NP maybe I should just work for that now and forget even getting the experience!!! Wow I love buffalo but it sucks to be a nurse here!!!

I am a a new grad RN BSN who recently moved to Buffalo from Knoxville, TN. I can't believe how difficult is has been searching for jobs here compared to easily all my classmates from Knoxville got jobs. I am so eager to begin working and have been persistent in looking for positions, calling different HR departments, and sending out countless resumes. I have not even had one call for an interview yet! At this point I am willing to take almost anything....are there any offices in the area, surgical centers or other outpatient type center that may be hiring right now? Ultimately it would be ideal to find a good new grad program at an area hospital, Im just not having any luck! Any advice, tips, or info on new grad positions would be so helpful! Thanks !! :)
