BSN to take Nclex LVN

Published

Can anyone tell me if having a BSN qualifies me to also take the Nclex LVN and if so, I already have my credentials with the BON California, do I still have to submit one for the BOVN?

Jackpot- What BSN program did u graduate from? Your school should also be helping you pass. Do you currently have a job in the medical field? Sometimes getting experience as a CNA or a tech can really help the skills and knowledge sink in.

My college did provide review classes in preparation for Nclex. I thought I did well, it stopped at 132 questions. I passed or almost passed most of the topics but failed at Pharma and two other. I plan to enroll at one of the review centers in addition to my self review. Any suggestions... I am from the Los Angeles area. Thanks for all posts.

Apologies on the wording of my previous post. Instead of "challenging" I should have said that CA will allow an LPN/LVN to become eligible to take the RN exam without completing an ADN, BSN or diploma program. Unless CA has done away with this program of course, I believe it was called the 30 unit option.

They run into a similar issue as the OP would by becoming an LPN/LVN without completing an LPN/LVN program though, as their license will endorse to few (if any) other states as the usual requirement is to complete an ADN, BSN or diploma program (or an LPN/LVN program in the OP's case). I know some programs aren't recognized by all states, for initial licensure as well as endorsement, but I'm unaware of any other state that doesn't require an RN to have a degree or diploma.
