My college did provide review classes in preparation for Nclex. I thought I did well, it stopped at 132 questions. I passed or almost passed most of the topics but failed at Pharma and two other. I plan to enroll at one of the review centers in addition to my self review. Any suggestions... I am from the Los Angeles area. Thanks for all posts.
I am not giving up the Nclex RN exam, I plan to take it again in Jul-Aug. I just sent my re-apply form last week and hopefully will get my ATT early June. I am just giving the Nclex LVN some serious consideration and maybe I can hit two birds with one stone so to speak during my review. Some LVN's here such as visiting lvn's make as much as a starter nurse ($30-35/visit) and it may be easier to get work/assignments compared to applying for a rn position in a hospital or while waiting to be hired as an rn.
I took the Nclex RN exams last Feb but did not make it. I am still planning to take it again but a friend suggested that taking the Nclex LVN would also be a good option to consider. Reason for that is that even if I pass the Nclex RN exams, it is currently difficult to get a job as an RN because most hospitals and facilities now require or prefer to have at least 1 year work experience. Having 2 licenses just increases your chances of landing a job sooner eventhough the pay for an LVN is about 30% less. Does anyone know if you can request the BON to send your credentials (i.e. transcripts and clinical credits) to the BOVN or do you have to do it yourself?
Can anyone tell me if having a BSN qualifies me to also take the Nclex LVN and if so, I already have my credentials with the BON California, do I still have to submit one for the BOVN?
