Are there any colleges or BSN nursing programs near Whispering Pines, NC? I plan on moving there (hopefully) with my extensive family after graduation, and I want to become a registered nurse BSN.
Thank you in advance :)

There are no BSN programs near Whispering Pines, but Sandhills Community College has a good ADN program and it's right down the road. They also have an LPN diploma program. You do have to have your CNA I for the program, and they offer it as a curriculum course in the spring and fall semesters. I believe it's offered as a continuing education course in the summer. Prerequisites/corequisites include A&P 1 & 2, general psych, two English courses, microbiology, and intro to sociology. There may be a couple others. You also have to take the HESI.
I'm not in the nursing program there, but I did take classes there several years ago and liked it. They've got a couple newer buildings, including the student activity center/bookstore/cafeteria (which wasn't built when I was an on-campus student). They do have a decent offering of online and hybrid classes as well. There's a nice set of gardens on campus, too.
If you're set on a BSN program, your best bet is probably going to be to look in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area, as there are several in that area (though I'd still recommend knocking your pre-req's out or getting an associate of science/art at a community college like Sandhills first--much cheaper!). The only one I know of in Fayetteville is Fayetteville State, which had a low pass rate for a while. I don't know if they lost accreditation or not. Cary (in the Raleigh area) will be about an hour away, Fayetteville is about 45 minutes to an hour. Moore County does have a good hospital, FirstHealth Moore Regional, with a nationally-ranked cardiology program when I was living there. There's also quite a few nursing homes, as Pinehurst is a popular area for retirees. There's quite a few military folk and people employed by Fort Bragg who live in the area as well.
I've moved away from the area but still have family there so I visit on a semi-regular basis. My primary complaint was always the traffic--the roads weren't designed for the number of people that have moved to the area, so sometimes the roads get very congested. It can be especially bad when a major golf tournament is being hosted (but they always spiffy up the roadsides by planting new flowers!). Overall, it's a very nice area in which to live and raise a family, and I enjoyed living there growing up.
If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them!
