Hi everyone,
I just wanted some input in what nursing school I should attend. I got accepted into Hunter, Stony Brook and NYU for their accelerated BSN program.
Some of my friends are swaying me towards NYU because of its prestige and name but I wanted more input from a wider audience.
I want to go to a school where it would give me the best education to become the best nurse out there. Have anyone received their BSN from any of these colleges and can vouch for them?

Passing the NCLEX and getting that license means you have the same skills no matter if you came from a community college, BSN or NYU. Employers don't pay you more for spending more on education. You can be the best nurse possible regardless, make learning your top priority, look up anything in textbook you don't understand ... all doable at cuny/suny.
Stony brookand Hunter are both are known for thier strong nursing programs and similar tuition price $5.2k semester. Stonybrook the campus is beautiful! they have their own hospital too so you'll most likely be doing your clinicals there. Hunter is in the city, very close to public transportation and you'll be doing clinical at various city hospitals. NYU its prestigious, tuition $19.6k semester, also strong program, clean and awesome customer service, clinical probably at nyu hospital.. just super expensive. I have to say customer service, ease of registering for classes etc NYU wins hands down but... for that amount of monies i think i don't mind doing some self advising.
See what other people are talking about in those schools. Here's the link for the 3 schools: NYU, HUNTER and Stonybrook
Connections/contacts that isn't dependance on school name its what you will make of the people you do meet.
I went to an associates degree program, graduated, RN licensed and now will start at SUNY Stonybrook (distance learning) in the summer. Tuition monies i saved from attending cuny let me attend school FT in final semester, paid for iPad, Laptop, iphone and the occasional shopping, outings. Tuition is cheap enough that with my PT job I had extra monies left. For me cost and time it takes to finish was #1. GOOD LUCK
COMPARING SCHOOLS:
Cost, Commute time or Campus living, ease of registering for classes, strenght of program.

I think it's a matter of whether or not you want to continue your education with a MSN, DNP, Ph.D..
I paid my deposit for NYU's accelerated BSN, because you are basically guaranteed direct-entry to their Master's programs, which also has a program on adult acute care, which I really do want to go into. If you want to become an RN, I hear that name does not matter. But otherwise, name does matter (as for jobs, it may also be..an RN told me that her daughter recently graduated with honors at Hunter, and she's struggling to find jobs..)
Hope that helps!
