Anyone applying to this program? Application deadline is August 31st. I have family that is from the NE area so that's one of the reasons I'm applying.
Didn't you interview today as well king?
Yeah, I had a hard time reading them and I heard others did too. I just wanted some more input from everyone else and I wasn't told it wasn't around when they talked about the ranking system so that was interesting. Shannon gave me an odd question or one that I thought was odd as I was leaving the room. Nobody else has shared their experiences in the Bryan posts so I wanted to get the convo started for future applicants.
We definitely need to put some info down for future applicants. Interviewing is scary and these forums help a ton. Bryan did not have much on allnurses before this one.
So here is a few more hints.
Four fifteen minute interviews occur all with current professors and CRNA clinical staff. About 10-15 in total and one 15 minutes interview with the dean. This last one is more informational then an interview. She does still ask a couple non clinical questions. Current SRNAs are there to take you to and back from the interviews and the best advice I can give you is to ask them questions about who is interviewing you. They are happy to help and let you know about what you can expect. They don't tell you what you'll be asked specifically. More just the professors personality and what they are like and what you can expect.
One of the instructors I guess likes to ask anatomy and/or neuro questions however he didn't ask me any. Like I said previously, only talk about what you want to talk about and feel comfortable going into detail about and you will be fine.
Another professor will ask about any low grades you have received and want an explaination of why.
I cannot wait to hear back. The paper said Monday or Tuesday but if I don't hear back Monday I will be freaking out.
Thanks! I put down 8:30, they called at probably 8:45. Stats are: 1.5 years general med/surg ICU experience, 337 GRE, 3.87 nursing school GPA, CCRN, TNCC, ACLS, PALS. My overall and science GPAs are lower because I nursing is my second degree but I retook a few science classes more recently.
