just spoke to a lady who told me they dont round gpa so a 3.18 is a 3.1 i thought it would be a 3.2
also this site gives me some thing different
http://www.sfcollege.edu/gpacalculator/
total points: 36.80
total hours: 11
semester gpa: 3.3455
when i do it manually i get this
ap1 a 3points 4.0 x 3 = 12 points
ap1 lab a 1 point 4.0 x 1 = 4 points
ap2 b 3 points 3.0 x 3 = 9 points
ap2 lab a 1 point 4.0 x 1 = 4 points
enc1101 c 3 points 2.0 x 3 = 6 points
35 points/11= 3.18

3.18 is correct, but what about Chem....that class is factored in as well.
And no, they do not round. I had a 3.57 and they only gave me points for a 3.5 gpa not points for 3.6 gpa.
im taking it now... but worried cuz, i have to get an A just to get 12 points a B will give me 8 points.. and that is with resident point for BCC.. hat means i will never get i the program.
I got an A on my first Chm test but the work gets harder. Praying for an A in the class
Sun how is the program?
I have a friend who got in for August with 8 pts, so it is doable. She was put on the alternate list, but ALL alternates got in for August.
As far as the program, it is highly intense.....so much work, a lot more than we're used to taking pre-reqs, but I honestly don't think the "content" is that difficult to grasp. However, there are a lot of people who are struggling, so its really hard to say because its based on the individual and how/what they are studying. It seems more people are doing better at North than at Central or South but our final is on Monday, so when we start the next class next Friday, I will know how many got left behind.
hey, Sunray.. whats the latest :-)
Well, it was hard to say how many were left behind after the NP1 because we had a lot of new faces that filled in a lot of the seats. The class was still pretty much filled. However, after NP2, it seems we've lost a lot, and even with those that are retracking in, the next class that starts in January (GI/GU) currently only has 63 people enrolled. I know we had over 120 in the class at one point and I want to say she counted close to 150 at one of our tests. But regardless, 63 is nearly half of the 120 I know we had. But because there are people retracking in, I have no idea the exact amount of my original class that is gone.
so any tips on what we can do to stay.. and what are the others really doing to flunk out.. what is the main cause, if you noticed any...
Its really hard to say. I do think for some people it is that they don't study nearly enough, but I lost 2 of my friends in NP2 and I think they studied WAY longer than I ever did. I can't tell you its JUST because of studying. Maybe its the quality and not the quantity of studying. For me, all I did was make sure I read each topic before we had the lecture for that topic in class, then during lecture I took notes. After that, I answered all of the objectives with the info from my notes and the book. Then I would print them out and use to study from, but I will be honest, I didn't usually have time for that. However, I wouldn't recommend this way of studying to others. I think the more repetition the better, so as many times as you can re-read the info the better.
I think its also good to get a head start on test taking skills and critical thinking skills because its one thing to know the info and its another to apply it and take the test. some people are good at memorizing info, but the test questions are not straight forward and at times may seem like there are more than one correct answer.

that's what i did when in np1&np2, read the book, and as i read, i did answer the objective questions because i felt i was covering everything... and of course, i would read every word that was in the book. i had a classmate that was like "that question wasn't on the objectives" in regards to a test... and i said, it was in the book.. and of course, she had only looked for the answers in the objective.
i got one of those binder books that have 5 subjects-- and that's what i did, and i would also do the same thing, read the topics discussed before my class, write my objectives, then on the slides for class, i wrote whatever the teacher spoke about.
it took a lot of time, but for me at least, that time was not a waste because i passed. after np1&np2 things get easier-- not easy-- because is more topic based, so if they speak about renal failure, you know it's gonna be that, not so broad like np.

Hi everyone,
First off, good luck to everyone applying to the program! I've been reading some of the posts the last few days (there are tons that I had to catch up on), but had no time to actually post, sigh...classes, holiday shopping, etc.
Anyway, does anyone know if BC Health Science Admission Dept. is open this week to receive applications for the May program? I called but kinda got mixed messages from the person on the end of the line and I think I'm cutting it close--I'd love to get the ball rolling already.
no, you have to wait for the new year I heard. Everyone is on holiday vacation.
you may find some info on the open hours on their website. www.broward.edu
