Broward College Nursing Program January 2018

Published

Hey everyone! I know it's a little early for the January (spring) 2018 process but I'm super anxious! I basically wanted to start this topic so that every one applying for the 2018 term could all help each other out! I am retaking a course at Keiser then my GPA will be higher and my overall HESI score is an 88%. Post any questions, comments, or concerns! Good luck to everyone! (:

Hi everyone ! I also received and confirmed the pre-admissions orientation the email I received is at central but I want to apply to north. Does anyone know if it's one orientation for all or are we suppose to contact the campus we have to go to?

It's one orientation for all of us

It's one orientation for all of us

Seems like we're all got admitted in the program. That's awesome......

Perfect thank you ! Can't wait for Friday í ½í¸

Bc is great but it's more like a self taught program.

It isn't a "self taught" program. You have to learn how to study efficiently, and pick out important concepts. The professors are more than accommodating and want you to succeed. But they will not spoon feed you. This isn't English Composition, or Microbiology. If you try to lazily make your way through this program, you could potentially harm someone if you aren't prepared or don't understand the rationale.

And for any subject, if you're relying on your professors to "teach" you the subject matter, you aren't doing your job as your own advocate in education. Lectures are there to supplement your own studying, not hold your hand across the finish line.

congrats to everyone accepted.

Wannabeny, I would like to get a start on my reading. What do you recommend to study in advanced for Process I and Pharmacology?

Thanks!

Hey everyone congratulations!!!. Need help. I was planing on applying for the Fall term 2018 at BC but I dont think ill be able to, this is the issue my grades I am a little worried I need advice. I am currently taking my AP2 classes. My lab I am doing great I got a B currently and that is without the final. I know can even push for an A for sure in Lab overall. But my lecture is horrible the professor is making it in possible to pass. I will get a C or even worse fail with a D. Should I withdraw? I have until the 28th to do so of this week, Or should I audit the class? P.s currently Waiting to see how I did on exam2 that we took last week and she still didn't put the grades in and I have her class this afternoon, have me on edge not knowing my stand point in the class. This exam grade will determine if I should stay or leave, her class because I did not do good on the first one at all.. She haven't posted any grades since class started. I do all my discussions, connect work, extra credit. ect... but her exams are worth much more over all. My current grades and HESI score is below

HESI 93%

ENC1101 -C

BSC2085-B

BSC2085L-B

BSC2086(C*) OR (D*) Currently taking the class now until 12/12

BSC2086L (A*) OR (B*) Currently taking the class now until 12/07

what should I do. If I withdraw I might not make the application deadline for Fall 2018. Unless I find a lecture class the ends a few days or weeks before the application dead line. or if I cant find a lecture class that ends by that time frame, I will have to apply January 2019 and I will have a better chance to get into the program. HELP!! what would you all have done? if you were me?

How can I determine my points. I seen a point system and I got a 14 out of 16... did I calculate correctly?

Me personally I would withdraw and take it with a better professor. I did that while I was taking AP and I ended up getting A's and B's instead of C's and D's. You just want to be able to get in without any problems. Keep that science gpa AS HIGH AS POSSIBLE.

Thank you !!! I was just a little disappointed that I wont be able to get in for Fall 2018. and ill be a semester behind. But that is better then not being able to get in at all.

I'm a student at BC in ortho/neuro at central campus. I have one semester after this. Ask me [almost] anything!!!!! But I study a lot so I might be slow to respond.

I got in with 16 points, ~94% overall HESI and I've gotten a B in nearly every lecture in the nursing program

Preparation tips prior to the program ?

Hi Luna!

I have to take Microbiology still. When do you recommend to add this onto my schedule?

Thank you !!
