Broward College May 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi guys!! Haven't seen any threads for May 2018 so I figured why not start one!! I just submitted my application for Broward's May 2018 LPN-RN program so anxiously waiting for the deadline. While I wait I'm attending Keiser to retake A&P 1 and lab to boost grade up! What's everyone doing to pass the time?

Thanks for letting us know!

Hi everyone,

Honestly, don't count on decisions going out before spring break. I would LOVE to be able to get them out so nothing is pending on our end but I am waiting on some information from other departments before I can send out the emails.

The decisions coming out will be for the generic program. LPN to RN decisions won't be out until after the app period ends March 15.

I don't think you can have nails. They need to be short, natural and unpolished.

Ok thanks for letting us know!! Im sure I speak for everyone when I say thanks for taking time out to update us!!

I finally have my points!!! I have 13 points. I'm hoping that will be enough to do it. I already started reading and trying to do the math problems to get ahead. This wait is agonizing.

Nice! Glad to hear it updated for you. I think 13 sounds great! :)

Yay!!! Congrats..... tell me about it. This wait is definitely excruciating í ½í¸–. What campus are you trying to attend?

I would like to be at north campus. I live close by and prefer it there to central.

That's good. I live closer to north as well. It's 10 minutes from me.

Another long week ahead of us....another week behind!!! This wait is truly a killer lol. How was everyone's weekend?

I worked all weekend. Trying to make as much money as I can. Still debating on the working situation. Anyone else ?

Good morning! My weekend was great...thank you for asking!

I am still on the fence about working too. I work full time right now but I will need to stop once the program starts. I'm just not sure if I want to try to get a part-time, maybe after the first semester is over, once I feel a little more comfortable or familiar with the program. IDEALLY I would like to not work at all, but let's see what happens and how I feel down the road. I've worked a full time job since the second I graduated high school and I have a son now so the thought of not working at all is terrifying to me. So I'm just using that fear as motivation to succeed :)

I decided to have an actual spring break this weekend and take a break from the books but now I'm back to studying with Micro midterm on Monday :(

I am very fortunate to have some financial support now and decided to take loans here and there. It's not ideal but (contingent on if I even get in) I'd like to get the most out of being in nursing school to make sure I have a good foundation once I'm on the field and I know if I'm working I will just barely make it by. I was working until recently and always felt like I was struggling to keep up in class because I didn't have the time to read the chapters before class or spend that extra time studying.

I have heard from many that working is 100% possible so if you need to continue working you can totally make it work! I think an emotional support system is really most important wether you're working or not. Many super moms and super dads out there have done it :)

Yes!!! Working is doable. My friend attended North campus and was working FT as well. She of course said it was tough but who else would pay her bills! I on the other hand will not be working. I would like this to have my full attention!!
