Broward College May 2017

Anyone Applying to the May 2017 program? I wanted to get into the January program but I was missing a math class and couldn't complete it in time for the January program.

I'm at a 3.3. You guys?

What is your gpa? last year May they only accepted 200 generic students

maybe if this was Aug 17' term then I would say yes my chances are good, but with May they don't accept as many students which is what scares me.

does anyone know if the book HAS to be from keiser i actually have an a&p textbook from broward college that i used for my a&p then

O Ladies I need some help please ! I also hae applied for Jan and did not get in I had 5.0 points. I decided to go with Keiser option and not give up to apply for May hoping to have completed my class in time as this is my 4th and last week in A & P 2 online. Yesterday I got a call from the Fincancial Aid dep from Keiser as them claiming of the changes to the retaking of any classes because I am not a full time student I cannot use any Sallie Mae to cover my class and receive my credit once grades post and I get my transcript in time by Feb 15 at Broward. I am now having to find these resources last minute that I do not have until the end of the month but I am scared I will not have my official by then. Grades close on the 5th This Sunday he said so they can give me an unofficial until the class is paid and the end of the month and I can get it into Broward. I do not want to give up ! I need this class to help my chances of entering the program for MAY but because of their lack of information and changes I am calling it close now. Any advice on what I should do ? What would you ladies do in my situation ? I reached out to Nichole informing her on my situation and see what I should do. They are making changes on retaking at Keiser you will have to pay out of pocket. Thanks for your help I have serious anxiety & am hoping to see the light I've been working full time to succeed in my pre reqs and its taken me so long and now to have this obstacle. Thanks again and sorry for the length :(

As far as I know that is how it has always been. If you are retaking only one course at Keiser you have to pay out of pocket because you are considered a non matriculated student, meaning you are only going for one class and then leaving. I was able to use my florida pre paid, if you have that use it. If not then ask if you can maybe do a payment plan. I know they won't give you official transcripts until your balance with them is zero. :/

Thanks agonz716 for your input. Ugh If I knew I couldn't get a private loan I probably wouldn't have but I was guided to think it was covered. Your right I cannot get my official until it is paid for so I am trying my best now to do what I need to not loose my credit. I do not have Florida prepaid but I have not lost hope. Thank You again !

this situation kinda sounds like mine. i tried to get accepted into January term and didn't get in I had 6 points. Like your self I decided to take the Keiser route because I was determined not to give up on my dream. However, I didn't have the money to pay out of pocket for my class at Keiser so what I did was use my pell grant and loans that I had waiting for me to use at broward college for this spring semester. Instead of taking 1 class I took 2 so i could use the money. Maybe you should ask them if you could use the loan if you registered for another class. I took English in November then I started Computers earlier this month. I only had to come out of pocket $100. Only thing is I may or not have any aid left to pay for classes at Broward if I was to get accepted into the program, but I'm preparing for that as we speak, and I heard that they have other Financial aid available for us nursing students, but of course we wont find that out till later. Hope this helped.

Thanks so much [COLOR=#003366]iwillbeanurse2012[/COLOR] it did help to know of a similar situation . I did ask about taking another class or how could I be covered for the remaining balance but they claim I need to be full time to use any grant or financial aid. I really at this point do not want to enroll in any other not needed class with their school.This is my last week in the A & P to then pick up another class from them I would have another 4 weeks in so won't make it to the May application date. I am hoping it all works out and I am able to just pay them off to receive my credit and transfer back to Broward in time. Thank again for sharing your experience :cautious:
