Broward College May 2017

Anyone Applying to the May 2017 program? I wanted to get into the January program but I was missing a math class and couldn't complete it in time for the January program.

Nevermind to my above post, I went to central campus in person and applied. Just turned in my HESI scores and paid the $20. Should I be able to see something in the limited access application status page? I'm so nervous I missed something or messed something up, I don't know why. CAN IT BE MARCH ALREADY PLEASE?! xD

No. Nothing will be posted until we process your application on the limited access application status page.

Hello there!

I am new to this board, but thought I may be able to provide some insight for you :)

There were 554 applicants competing for 265 seats for the Jan program. 265 applicants were selected and had pre-requisite GPA's between 3.1 and 4.0. Alternates had pre-requisite GPA's of 3.09. In this class, there are 34 alternates. Remember that the GPA is not your total GPA, but only the GPA for the selected Pre-req classes.

In my humble opinion, I think you should be okay with a 3.2 ((based on Jan statistics)).

HOPE this helped :)

I'm with yu! I finish AP so far I have an A! I cannot wait to re submit my application!

Thank you for this information! I have a feeling that everyone in this thread will be able to get in! :D

Keep in mind that in the May term, less students are accepted because that is the term our LPN to RN Transition program begins as well.

Nichole

Thank you Nichole--I was not aware of that.

I heard on several occasions that the May term is a more "fast-paced" term...Is that accurate? Does that mean we have less class time and/or days?

thank you for your input :)

Hi My name is Michelle I also did not get into the January program & I am trying also to balance out my options to better my chance for May. I just wanted to comment how much of a relief this thread was to find & how helpful Nichole is for all of us future nurses with so many questions. We at least know they are coming from an accurate source. Thank You so much everyone for your helpful suggestions & comments. I was also getting discouraged & my anxiety is also so bad with wanting to make the best decisions on what steps to take. THANK YOU AGAIN A MILLION ;)

I do have a question maybe nichole could answer. When i bring my updated transcripts with the new grade for AP2 will they know it replaces the old one automatically and what do i say or do once its submitted, should i call or email nichole so my application could be resubmitted??

Yes. May is fast paced. You have a shorter semester, with the same course load you would get in a regular semester, so each week is packed with reading so you can still get in the requisite exams; on top of having Pharmacology and Math. Be prepared to focus only on school, keep up on your readings (no joke. Do ALL of your reading or you'll be lost.)

Thank you!

Is it only shorter the first semester? Do you know why it is shorter, as I do not believe we finish any sooner than the others..

Completely out of subject LOL...I signed on for the Hesi First Time...Lord have mercy... :/
