Hi all! Just reading through some threads for BC and they all seem to be for the generic program. Just wanted to start a thread for LPNs in transition! =)
Just having some pre-semester jitters,...very anxious to get more info at the mandatory pre-admission session on April 8th. Congrats to all who have been accepted and are getting ready for the bumpy ride!!!!
can someone please tell what do we need to get accepted in this transition program ??? Of course you need an LPN license, what else do i need ? do i still have to complete the prereques such micro, a&p, etc ... is it easier to get accepted ? what exactly do we need ? I dont know if i should become an LPN in mcfatter first and then go to this transition program, or just go straight to keiser

If you get your LPN license, u will still need to take the prereqs like A&P1, A&P2, English 1101, Chemistry to get into the program. You don't need Microbiology to get into the program, but u need it graduate. Also, once u are done wit your prereqs u will need to take the HESI exam to get in the program. U need to be careful if u want to go to Keiser. Their credits are not accepted in most schools, if u want to get your BSN.
Sorry I forgot to mention that I am going to the North cam like you. Thanks for the information about the uniforms. Did they send you any email about the orientation day? I did not receive any other email since the one that we received before the registration.
.
No, I haven't receive any email from them either. I know one of email we received said orientation is the first week of school. But nothing after that. Other campuses already have their email sent out about their orientation. I guess we need to keep checking our emails.
I am going NUTS trying to find a pair of scrub bottoms that fit me well. I really don't want to have to go to a tailor unless I absolutely have to! The pair I found is just a tad bit off from color of the top. I hope it wont be a big deal. Guess I will find out soon!!!
Well you still have some time to find the appropiate pants, if you are in the transition program at North campus, since I do not think we need to use our uniforms for regular classes. I was reading the web page of our NUR2000 professor (Dr. Mendoca-Cali) and in there she wrote that uniforms are mandatory for labs and hospital days. Please someone correct me if I am wrong . Anyways I will find out tomorrow since tomorrow is my first day back in school (I have math class and I am not going to wear uniform yet) Yeah!!!!finally we are going to start with this program
I could not wait any longer.
Hello everyone!..Did anyone registered for Peds for the fall? I have a question can we register to any nur 1304L? the one that they mention in the email that they sent us on 06/01/2011 is already full and I saw another that is still open andit is in the north campus as well. Please help me!!!
Does anyone know the answer to this question?
If someone is taking LPN classes at Sheridan or Atlantic, and if technically the class won't be over until April, can that person still apply during the March deadline for the lpn-rn transition? I mean, one wouldn't have their license yet, but could they get in before classes start in May.
I asked BC directly, but I think you all probably know more of what the chances are and if that is cutting it too late, or the seats would be filled.
Thanks for any advice.
I believe that you should have you application submitted before the deadline date; and have all of your supporting documents submitted there after. As long as you recieve your license before the decision deadline, then okay. If not, you have to wait and apply/reapply for the next admission date. Go to there site for more legitment clarification. I wish that BC had open house session for Q&A's.

CONGRATS!!!!! What campus are you attending? I was told you don't need to wear uniform the first day. That is if you are going to North Campus. I am not sure about other campuses. I guess when we go to orientation we will know exactly what we need to wear on the first day of class.
