Broward College hopeful for May 2013 Nursing Program

U.S.A. Florida

I know there is a lot of confusion going around with the new requirements for the BC nursing program so I wanted to start a thread for those of us finishing prerequisites and applying in January. I'm in the Core class now, but other than that I'm finished with everything else and getting very excited to start next year!

Thanks for the forms. I have to see if all my immunization are still valid or if I have to get some done again.

Anyone thinking of going to north campus PM me I have set up a FB group for north campus.

Oh that is so good! I had no records of immunizations (could not get any either) and at the health department they were going to give me all the shots it was like $400 and something but the girl recommended I go to my Dr. to get the titer blood tests first. That turned out to be $400 (no insurance!) but I only need the hep shot now and I have to go to get my finger prints. HOT TIP!! Do the "immunizations help" when you get the background check, they will give you info and help you make appointments to get the titers wayyyy cheaper! I found out after the fact, my own doctor hosed me :)[/quote']

Awesome tip! Thank you :)

Is anyone going to the info session for the nursing program this Friday (March 15) at North Campus? Has anyone been to one of the info sessions before, and if so do you think it's worth it to go or should I just wait for the pre admission meeting? Thanks!

I can't go but I'm sure it's definitely worth it. If you go can you please pass any info they give you?

Yes I'll take notes so I can pass on any relevant info. For anyone else who would like to attend, it's at 1pm and takes place in Building 41, Room 225 at North Campus.

If it's like the one they had at Central in Jan. it is more for people just starting out. It tells you how to get where we are now. There were about 4 of us there that had already applied for the program the rest were brand new. They give you the paperwork that shows the pre-req's.

Oh ok, yeah they're the same info session just different campuses. I think I'm going to skip out on it then. Thanks, KCOOPS!

lol, what I think is funny is that none of us went to one before.

23 more days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

23 more days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yay!! So excited!

What are you soon in the mean time?

I'm reading fundamentals, studying math, and I have a financial aid workshop tomorrow.

Lets see............. I'm going crazy with nerves, excitement, and worry!! I'm on like page 9 in that book. Have not had time to read. Trying to figure everything out: I have like 3 more pay checks before school starts! OMG!!! I can't believe we had to wait this LONG! Our meeting is the 5th then we have what 3 weeks before schools starts to get everything done. Don't want to jump ahead yet at the same time if I don't, I won't have enough time to get things done.
