Side note- Can ANYBODY please tell me why the faculty at BC are sooooooooooo mean?!?! :angryfireI just left the north campus and some of them act like I just killed their mother! I'm trying soo hard to be nice, but some of them make me wanna take my earrings and heels off and jump over the counter!! :smiley_abj/k lol

LOL I don't need an assualt and battery charge on my background check right about now. I think Chinara in Health Sciences admissions is nice and Liz in advising is REALLLY nice.

Yes, Liz is very nice. Is Chinara the girl who sits at the desk and takes the applications?
Anyway, I applied for August :)

I have a quick question im looking to apply to BC program for the winter term 2010 what if I have a GPA of 3.3 for my pre-req and I had HOSA in a Broward County high school, I had to take over a few of my pre-req classes, what are my chances of getting in, and does repeats affect ur chances of getting in the program ??????
Thank you

I turned in my application yesterday so now I guess we all wait. Health Admissions told me to start looking in my email by the end of this month so I guess we will all know sooner then I thought!

I think so. I'm not sure since I mailed my app in, but I've been working with her since the pre-admission orientation. She works with Twana and always smiles and answers all my questions.

I'd say you have a good chance. 9 pts for GPA + 5 pts for HOSA+ 1 more if you're a Broward county resident= 15.
Good luck!

Thank you VonneG, do think the repeats affect there decesion ?
Honestly I don't know, but if I had to guess I would say no simply because they are strictly on a point system. It would be different if you had to say give letters of recommendation, show volunteer hours, and have an interview. In those cases, they are looking more closely at the merit of person and would probably frown on retaking classes if you did poorly the first time. BC seems to only look at how many points you ultimately have when you turn in your packet.
Thanks again VonneG I will keep posting when I get a decesion....please continue to post as you go through the program...people like me like to know whats going to prepare myself....good luck and congrats
I want to scream now....I just stopped by BC's health science admission office and asked about HOSA points just to make sure...and only to be disappointed when I was told that in order to get these points you would have to had taken HOSA within 2yrs....I graduated high school in 2004 so the only thing I would get is a waiver for the core classes.....ahhh
