Broward August 2015

Published

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this site, but I've seen other threads for other semesters for Broward College. I didn't find one for August 2015. I figured this would be a good place to share each other's excitement to (HOPEFULLY!) start the program in August. Let's all support each other on this journey! :)

Hey guys for those of you going to south are you planning on wearing your white shoes tomorrow for the orientation? also what are your schedules like ?

My shoes actually don't come till tomorrow lol. I procrastinate a lot... So I'm trying to buy another pair of sneakers kuz I don't like those croc looking shoes even tho they're comfortable. I have knee problems from playing basketball lol.. So I'm lowkey doomed until I find some. Do we need our own BP cuffs? Anyone know?

Central students. Are you guys reading before class? If so, where did you start?!

I read the chapters they said would be on the first exam.

Besides that, do you think we should be reading the stats book that the syllabus talked about our first assignment or any of the math stuff? Or do you think we should just wait until class and they will direct us? I'm so confused where to start but I've just been doing what you said, starting with the chapters from the Fundamentals book as a review. Hopefully they load the info on D2L we will have a little more direction

Hey guys I'm guessing this is for central or south campus? What are the chapters given to you in the fundementals book? :)

Someone else on here posted some objectives for exam one being Vital Signs, Hygiene, Safety, Health Assessment, Documentation, and Nursing Process. But just the categories not specific chapters. I believe this was also from last semester and not sure which campus. My syllabus is for Smith at North Campus and states exam 1 will cover Activity and Exercise, Patient Safety, Infection Control, Hygiene, Vital Signs, Specimen Collection, and Physical Assessment. But again, no chapters listed.

Sorry, meant Smith at Central, not North. Thats good to know Trish.a it's probably worth opening those books ahead like you did =)

After you pass the first math test you move on to going to the hospital during clinicals. The retakes happen before you guys start clinicals whomever doesn't pass the retake doesn't go to clinicals

South campus students! See you all at 8am. :)

Alright North Campus!!! Our D2L is up and the very first chapter we are starting w/ is VITALS!!!!
