Hello everyone, I am searching for fellow nursing applicants who plan to apply for Spring 2012 admission into Brookhaven's nursing program. A little about myself, I am currently completing my support courses (A&P II, Pharmacology, and Microbiology), and for the summer I'll be taking Spanish 1411. I gave the HESI test a try (2/15/11) just to get a feel for it, and I scored a 91. I've completed all 4 of the pre-requisites (Chem, A&P I, English, and Psychology) with A's. To my most recent knowledge, according to Brookhaven's website, they will be accepting 50 students per application period (Spring and Fall). Have anyone else heard of this? And also, does anyone know the minimum overall points of the students accepted into the program? I calculate my HESI score (91-75) for 16 points + 4.0 points for the pre-requisites GPA, and 12 points for the completed support courses, this giving me a total of 32 points. I wonder if this is good enough for acceptance. For those responding to this thread, please feel free to share your status, as we are all in this to achieve the same goal. Also, for past and current nursing students of Brookhaven's nursing program, I welcome your advice and knowledge. Thanks everyone. :)
I was worried about being bored out of my mind so I started taking classes towards my BSN just in case I didn't get it, or if I do (Hopefully I do) to help towards my RN-BSN. I also downloaded a few free books off of amazon like How To Survive Clincals and a couple other books like Patho & pharm quick notes.
Your situation sounds a lot like mine because I couldn't take the EOL either due to work. By any chance were you in the Dosage over the summer with Dr. H?
Will you guys be taking EOL in the Spring then? I will be taking it then so maybe we will have class together :)
This semester I am finishing up my co-reqs for the Brookhaven program..well all except for EOL. Then in the Spring when I apply I will be tkaing EOL and work on my RN-BSN pre-reqs like English 2 and History :)
@sugarmagnolia018 hey i was reading your post about the study guide for the ?s yu missed on the evolve website and i dont see it and i was wondering if you can help me find it =)
When you log into the Evolve website, go to Testing & Remediations, then under My Exams you should see your test score. Click on the + sign next to "Admission Assessment Report" and it'll show you your individual scores. From there, click on a subject, then click "Specialty Area Results & Review Materials". You'll see more links on that page - click on those to get specific study guides. Hope that helps!!
Briertz - I am hoping to take EOL in the spring... hopefully see you there!
Hey Briterz - have you gone to an info session yet? I'm asking because I'm really anxious to know what's going on with this admissions process. If you happen to be going to the October one coming up, would you please ask? I'm tempted to go just to find out but I'd need to leave work early, and I gotta save up some of my time so I can (hopefully) go to my interview! AC said they'd update the website with the new process but they haven't yet... I know they're super busy with apps so it's understandable but I'm just dying to know!

What is everyone doing between now and (hopefully) starting school? I am getting antsy already... the only support course I haven't done is EOL because of my work schedule so that's not an option... I took 15 hours of support courses/prereqs this summer and worked full time so I feel like I don't know what to do with all this time on my hands! I'm trying to make myself review Patho and Pharm but it's difficult without a set schedule (i.e. an actual course). Suggestions?
