can anyone give me advice on what Professor to take at Brookhaven for AP? I am not that great at science to begin with and I just am not familiar with the teachers there. Any input would be helpful. Thanks!!!!

I took Sokansanj(probably totally screwed up that spelling) for a back to back Summer I and Summer II A&P classes. It was a tough course for me, and I definately couldn't have handled it with another course, but she was helpful and nice and I made it through with a B so I was satisfied! I had taken and dropped Daniels prior. Some people like him, but I thought he was tough. He'd hand out 15 copies of review notes for a exam in lecture for a 50+ class, and tell people whoever could get them first could have them and we were responsible for getting together with those people to get copies. It was nuts, and he was fast and didn't want people asking questions during lecture even though we could hardly hear him. I heard Peggy Mason(micro) is also teaching A&P now. I had her for Micro. and although she comes off tough at first sometimes, she's really a great and helpful teacher as well. I couldn't have got through Micro without her and Terri Canaris. Check out myproffessor.com to get reviews on all the proffessors at Brookhaven before you register! I always do :-)

Don't take Gill King...He's nuts.
Thanks so much, I think I am sticking with Mason. Any other professors you liked or were otherwise insane? I still need Chem as well.
I actually took the chem online which is out of the Irving but it is still dallas county and it was great. The professor was so nice and he made it possible to accomplish. I made a "B" but I have two year old twins and a full time job. A normal person could surely pull off an "A". The professor's name was CL McAdams. I am currently taking A&P I again because I took it more than 5 years ago and also online through elcentro and it has been great. I have to travel to elcentro to take the online tests but the train makes that easy. There is no lab...should I say that again? THERE IS NO LAB! It is the easiest and A&P class can be and I highly recommend it. Barry Bates is the instructor and he does not offer the 2401 during the summer. Anyway, I hope this helps.
Oh, BTW. I took Peggy Mason for micro and it too was online but I had to go in for the lab and it was sooo hard. She makes you do lots of research and everyone at my lab table dropped the class. I stuck it out and pulled a "B" and was glad to see it under the circumstances. She is a very nice lady but a difficult instructor.
I can't tell you how helpful your suggestions have been. Thank you. My only concern about AP I online is will that affect me when the Hesi comes into play. I am so intimidated by AP I, everyone tells me how hard it is and that it will haunt you when u try to take the hesi. People make it seems impossible. But, NO LAB...OMG How wonderful. Also the train makes it easy to travel to ElCentro now.
You know what, there are two nurses that work in my dept and one told me the HESI is so easy and the A&P isn't that bad and I trust her. She says go ahead and take it and see what it is about and then if you need to retake it you will know what is on it. As for the online A&P class, it is the easiest I have seen for that level of class. Then for the second part, the SCIT 1408 is available online through elcentro as well. I don;t know how easy that instructor is but it also has no lab. You do have to get the ADAm software and on the tests they include a few lab questions like an arrow pointing to a bone part and you have to choose what it is. Not too bad since he tells you what to study and there are what the instructor calls "take home tests" this is just a small open book 25 question online test you do before you go in to take the test and there are always a lot of the same questions on the test so it makes it easier. I hope this helps.
Yes you have me sold. How many tests need to be taken at ElCentro?
Well, I dropped the class last fall because I was taking patho at the same time. I also have 2 year old twins and a full time job. I remember there was a test about every two or three weeks. It wasn't that bad. I plan on taking it again this fall.
Well you might see me there..LOL.. Wow twins and two year olds...that is a handful.. Who do u have for patho?
I am going to take the 2401 online class again with Barry Bates.
