  1. You can find the study guide on amazon or on the evolve reach website. It is a new one that just came out and most up to date. Most cc's have it in the library as well.
  2. The class I am taking is RNSG-1311-5427 and the required class is RNSG 1211 so the only difference is 3 credits for the class instead of 2.
  3. Thank you. Please let me know what they say.
  4. I read somewhere that a student took the online pathophysiology through elCentro and they would not accept it at Brookhaven. It has a different course number from the Brookhaven class but it is patho just the same. I am wondering if anyone has taken it and it worked because I have already begun that class and would hate to think it won't even count.
  5. I am going to take the 2401 online class again with Barry Bates.
  6. Well, I dropped the class last fall because I was taking patho at the same time. I also have 2 year old twins and a full time job. I remember there was a test about every two or three weeks. It wasn't that bad. I plan on taking it again this fall.
  7. You know what, there are two nurses that work in my dept and one told me the HESI is so easy and the A&P isn't that bad and I trust her. She says go ahead and take it and see what it is about and then if you need to retake it you will know what is on it. As for the online A&P class, it is the easiest I have seen for that level of class. Then for the second part, the SCIT 1408 is available online through elcentro as well. I don;t know how easy that instructor is but it also has no lab. You do have to get the ADAm software and on the tests they include a few lab questions like an arrow pointing to a bone part and you have to choose what it is. Not too bad since he tells you what to study and there are what the instructor calls "take home tests" this is just a small open book 25 question online test you do before you go in to take the test and there are always a lot of the same questions on the test so it makes it easier. I hope this helps.
  8. Oh, BTW. I took Peggy Mason for micro and it too was online but I had to go in for the lab and it was sooo hard. She makes you do lots of research and everyone at my lab table dropped the class. I stuck it out and pulled a "B" and was glad to see it under the circumstances. She is a very nice lady but a difficult instructor.
  9. I actually took the chem online which is out of the Irving but it is still dallas county and it was great. The professor was so nice and he made it possible to accomplish. I made a "B" but I have two year old twins and a full time job. A normal person could surely pull off an "A". The professor's name was CL McAdams. I am currently taking A&P I again because I took it more than 5 years ago and also online through elcentro and it has been great. I have to travel to elcentro to take the online tests but the train makes that easy. There is no lab...should I say that again? THERE IS NO LAB! It is the easiest and A&P class can be and I highly recommend it. Barry Bates is the instructor and he does not offer the 2401 during the summer. Anyway, I hope this helps.
  10. Don't take Gill King...He's nuts.
  11. Sweetheart, although I am not currently a nurse. I work in Labor and Delivery of a small hospital as surgical tech and I am about to apply to nursing school. I wanted to post a reply because I know a bit about working around nurses, what they do, how it can be and how tough school can get. The old saying goes "nurses eat their young" you are finding out what that means in school. It seems you can get into a program where the instructors abuse their students and that is why they say they "eat their young" not all programs are like that but unfortunately, yours is. My advice to you is to finish what you started because you are almost done. Get a job and see if you like it. It depends on where you work. I work with some great nurses and that is why I am going to stay where I am at when I graduate nursing school. If after you get a job you hate it then you can consider something else but if you just quit before you finish, you won't know if you made a mistake and it will have all been a waste. And if you like your job you will be in a better position to think about the bridge program and have time to take a breath before you jump back into nursing school again. I wish you all the best in the world and hope all goes well for you. It sounds like you will be a terrific nurse and we need nurses like you. :heartbeat
  12. Some of the nursing programs in other cc districts as well as some nursing programs in other cc's in the same district require College Algebra instead of Chemistry.
  13. *** I am starting chem in January but I tell you what has been GREAT help as before hand brushing up and since I hae a Netflix account I don't get movies anymore, I get the chemistry series called "Chemistry - The complete course". They are short 30 minute tutorials of high school chemistry with an instructor that shows you all these little tips and easy ways of doing things and I feel so blessed to have found this. I highly recommend it. I think Blockbuster Online Club has them also. There are like 27 DVD's but they are very short and I can do 3 a day and then practice a little while waiting on the next shipment. *** Give it a try, you'll be impressed with this guy!
  14. Thank you so very much. I was really wondering how it would be and you have helped ease my fear. I was also wondering about the lab it I have to purchase. I was kind of afraid that if I did something wrong would it be ruined or would I have the opportunity to do it over. Well, thanks again. I appreciate your feedback and good luck in your studies.
  15. That is how it is with the Micro class, you have to go to the lab twice a week. I didn't see an online A&P class but I will surely look for one in the fall. Thanks for putting that thought in my head. I guess I should see how the chem and micro go first though.
