Brookhaven College Nursing Program Fall 2014

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi everyone, I haven't seen any thread about BHC Fall '14 so I made one! I am applying this February at Brookhaven community college for Fall 2014. I took Hesi last year for trial and I will be taking the Hesi for real again this February and I have been studying really hard this Winter break! Goodluck everyone, if I do not get accepted I have plan B which to go ahead and try to apply in UTA.

Almost finished in all precourses needed just Micro and death dying this Spring but they are not counted this application so I am hoping to do well in Hesi!

Thank you! I plan on trying to get in and work and learn as much as I'm allowed to. I'm excited to hear how wonderful Green is. I liked her when she spoke to us at Success Camp! So you're saying 3-4 hours the day before clinicals? Thanks again, and good luck on this coming semester!

Yes 3-4 hours the day before. Once you learn the system it will take a 2-3.

That is for the research. To do your paperwork is when you will be up all night. Green is very particular about her paperwork and drug cards. Start a Google doc to share drug cards among classmates. The more you share and help each other the less you have to do.

Cite your drug cards

This info helps a lot! I got a bunch of drug cards from my friend who just graduated ;)

Does the hesi at brook haven college have a calculator on the math portion of the test?

Can someone tell me how the hesi is I take it next week and someone told me there math part of the exam had a calculator on it ...is that true?? Also is A&P the only science on the exam?

Hi amytx1978, I was just curious how many points you had when applying for the program??? I'm applying for Fall 2015 and just trying to see what's competitive??? I hope the program is going well for you!!

Yes there is a calculator to use and A&P are the only science portions required

Yes the calculator is a pop up but it is slow and simple. It is all you get but is enough.

The fall takes 60 students so you have a better chance although some repeating the program get in first. I had 32 points but others got in with 27 or 28. Try to have all your classes done because it is hard to squeeze them in once you are in the program. You also start using that info right away.

Anyone have any tips for the First fundamentals exam from Shupe? Thanks!
