Brookhaven ADN Spring 2020

Published

Hello everybody! I will FINALLY be applying for Brookhaven for the Spring 2020 entrance. I have watched previous forums to see what to expect and I'm excited but nervous. Are there any students here enrolled in the concurrent enrollment through Brookhaven and Texas Tech? I hope to hear more from you guys as we go through this process!

I wouldn't take it there. There's cheaper way cheaper programs/locations that don't require you to have all your vaccinations, pretty much you have to have the same vaccinations as a student nurse. other programs just require you to have your TB only

Okay good. I’m applying to the Fall 2020 and I was debating getting a CNA to find work for the spring and summer. Thanks for the advice.

I was trying to join the facebook page for spring class 2020, but can't find the one that @cariboulover posted, or is there a group page set up yet?

Did you find it?

Look into Dallas Career Institute or Legacy Career Institute.

There were people w/ 26.6 and 26.7 points that did not get an interview.

Hey dmyre,
So I was talking to some others. The partnership Parkland hospital has with Brookhaven allows their PCT to apply to Brookhaven with the minimum needed points (20) and automatically get accepted into the ADN program with the contract that they have to continue working while they're in school and committed to additional 5 years of working at Parkland once they get their RN... so there will be a variation of points that aren't even high.

Also as I posted on another string, if you haven't applied to Texas Tech CENP program you better do it now. The program will be ending after Summer 2020 and they won't be taking any more students.

where did I find what? You have to have 44 college credits to qualify and you have to go to Texas Tech El Paso's website to apply to admissions.

I was referring to the Parkland partnership. I’ve done the Tech courses.

It's a youth program. not sure how old you are but.. yeah. It asks for high school attendance and a whole bunch of high school things. Letters from their teachers. It's Intended for recent high school graduates or high school seniors about to graduate.

I guess that explains why there's always "Student - Patient Care Tech" Openings in their Job Availability section.

Well that sucks. I wish it was open to everyone.

UT Southwestern has a PCT residency that they do every 8-10 weeks or so and it is open to those who want to be a PCT and have never been one. I know one girl who just finished out of it and it seems like its pretty good. I don't know when the dates open again but if anybody is interested, just let me know!
