Bristol Community College (BCC) Nursing 2020

Updated:   Published

Hello everyone! I am creating this forum in hopes to connect with other pre-nursing students who will be applying into BCC's program for Fall of 2020! What are your grades and TEAS scores? Also, current/former students, do you have any advice or insight on the program?

I look forward to hearing from you!

As far as schedules go you 100% need to be available Mondays. Traditional has lectures every Monday and their exams are on Mondays too. Ehealth doesn't go to lectures so the only time we would go to campus Mondays are for our exam prep (week before exam) and the exam itself. And as for your clinical day it's different for everyone. You will either have one 12 hour day a week or two 6 hour days. You can't pick what day(s) you get. It can be any day from Tuesday to Sunday.

And to answer the other question about what's most challenging about eHealth I suppose it's that you really have to be self motivated and diligent with your studying. You're not in lecture with everyone else so the professor isn't there to clarify something, although obviously you can reach out via email and they are more than happy to help. If anything I like the schedule better because I can go at my own pace and spend more time going over something if I'm having trouble or choose to breeze by it if I find it simple, whereas in traditional you can't really do that. It's all just personal preference. I would say the manner in which you first go over the material- be it in traditional on campus or eHealth at home- isn't really a big part of how you will succeed. What really matters and the real key to success is the time and effort afterwards you put into studying and preparing for the exams. And don't just study to memorize, study to learn.

Great info, thank you so much for sharing!

I'd be happy to start a facebook group! I hear we have to keep it private though or the school will try and shut it down. So I'd need people's info to invite them.

If you want me to start one like this and I'll post my email so people can send their Facebooks!

Why dont we message you here?

Yea

I tried to call, but no one answers. This is stressing me out now. I applied in October and my last name begins with M.

I don’t think they went alphabetically. Don’t lose hope. Mine changed at 10:45 this morning. Just because it hasn’t changed yet, don’t mean it won't.

I honestly don't think it goes by last name. I think it goes by GPA. IDK. I was told letters go out by next week. I'm starting to think going back to school was a bad idea. I wasted so much time and money and nothing to show for it. How can you say you give PRIORITY to student with a 3.5+ but you don't even give them a chance. You go straight for the 4.0s. How is that fair to me ?? I busted my *** taking care of a newborn while going to school. I feel like such a failure. My grades don't define who I am! I am a great person, and I deserve to be a nurse. I am an extremely caring person, I'd give the shirt off my back for anyone. I have all As, but because I had a miscarriage my first year here and got a B- in Psychology, I ***ed myself. I'm literally sitting in my car balling my eyes out . If I didn't lose my baby I'd have an A! ??????

I’m so sorry to hear that, but don’t give up yet. There’s no way they can be done adding them yet.

I wouldn’t give up. There are other options like Diman. You can take that this fall and then do the LPN bridge at BCC. As far as priority of 3.5 and up, it is a very competitive program and they go by highest GPA and work their way down. I would speak with your advisor and see what options you have. Also check to see if your application was complete. Mine was missing my TEAS and health info. They had to correct it. 3.5 is still a great GPA.

I'm going to take a higher level math and psychology in the fall. Hopefully that will boost my grade for next year ?

I called and they told me that are finished updating degreeworks, I have a 4.0 and my degree works did not change, this makes no sense, I made sure my application had everything correct. I mean maybe because I’m a transfer student. I don’t understand. The way they handled it on the phone was so rude, thank god I applied to another school.
