Got accepted into both nursing schools, which one to choose? Can anyone help with some opinions?
When I applied last year I didn't get it in, and I had the following:
1. 30 Transfer Credits from a school in Mich.
(On my BCC transcript, it shows the credits I earned, but not the grades. However, I was told that they can look at the grades when deciding because they are attached in your file)
2. Teas Exam 84 (need to get at least 70)
3. A&PI A
GPA 4.0
Here's what I had when I applied THIS year AND I got accepted:
1. Same transfer credits
2. A&PII A
3. Micro A-
4. ENG11 A
5. PSY51 A+
6. HST11 A
GPA 3.97
I also know that they've changed the pre-req's now. You MUST have A&PI, ENG11 & PSY51 with a B- or above.
And, in the catalog, it states "priority will be given to applicants who have fulfilled all course requirements with a GPA of 3.50 or higher... and a TEAS score of 70 or higher". They also look at your high school Math and Chemistry.
I was also told by a tutor last year that the more classes you have done with A's, the better.
A friend of mine spoke on the phone with the Dean of Admissions last year and he told her the bottom line was numbers. It's all in the grades and GPA you have.
Also, they have lowered the number being accepted. It is down to 72 now instead of 96.
Sorry that was so long, but I just want to help others because it was very hard getting information last year.
mine:
a&p i a+
a&p ii a+
bio 39 a
eng 11 a
psy 51 a+
psy 52 a+
hst 11 a+
mth 10 a+
sph 11 a+
esl 24( english as a second language ) b
esl 23 a-
eng 10 a
gpa 3.9 and teas an 80%
i also took drug calculation (nur100) at bunker hill cc because i applied to cccc, and i also sent a transcript to bcc as well because i think it helps. i got an a in drug cal.
now, i am taking english 12, which is only one class i have left. i hope this helps.

For those of you that were just accepted into BCC, can I ask what your grades were? Do you really need all A grades in the reprequiste classes to be accepted into the nursing program??? I'm working on my prerequistes right now, which is why I ask... LOL - - Also, did you actually have all your prerequistes done at the time you were accepted into the program?
Thanks!
