For those of us still here, anyone have fun plans for break?
We are traveling to visit my family, which we usually do during Thanksgiving but my husband wanted to switch things up this year. Sadly we can only stay three days because of his work schedule. I'm a Bears fan, my cousin's husband is a Vikings fan. I'm excited to tease him, payback for the last few years.
Other than that? Sleep, eat, repeat for me until Jan 7th!

Jan 7th ! lucky duck!! We're back on 1/2 (whomp whomp) But i'm going to make the most of it! Relaxing, seeing friends, a medical test or two, and not worrying about counting calories until the new year!!

I'm back 1/2 as well, but 1/2 is a PD day with no students (they come back 1/3).
My in-laws and my sister-in-law and her husband are staying with us for the break - they all arrived this week, so I've already been busy.

Since my family is split, we have 4 or 5 Christmas gatherings spread over Sunday-Tuesday. After that, all of my very best friends will be in town so we have a couple of fun days/evenings planned (none of us have kids). Other than that, hoping to do some deep house cleaning/organizing... I had August off after switching jobs, but my mind was in total decompression mode, and I couldn't comprehend doing any work at all during those 4 weeks, and so it has waited!!
Happy Break, everyone!!! We Made It!!

This upcoming 2 weeks is the reason I really wanted to switch to school nursing. Tonight I'm celebrating my sister's birthday, tomorrow night my sister-in-law is having a big 30th birthday party, then Christmas with my in-laws on Sunday, cookie baking "party" with my mom and sisters on Christmas Eve, and Christmas at my sweet 91-year-old grandma's house on Christmas. AND my sister who lives out-of-town is staying with me for the week of Christmas. I hope everyone has a great break and happy holidays!
I didn't realize so many schools aren't doing two weeks. That sucks!!
Although, we're scheduled into June. For some reason, we never get out in May.

This year we get out before the last week of May, it surprised me! We get 2 weeks at Christmas and a full week at Thanksgiving, as well as spring break.

Going to Fayetteville, AR for nearly a week!!! My favorite family/place to visit.
We get the best of both worlds... a week at Thanksgiving, two weeks at Christmas, a week of Spring Break, and last day on 5/24. Buuuuuut we do go back in early to mid August (8/13 this year). I don't mind though - it's blazing hot in Texas that time of summer.

Half a week at Thanksgiving, 24th-1st off for winter break, spring break is a full week and I don't get out til late June! We start the day after Labor Day, though.
We do 180 student days / 189 teacher days.

We miss you here in TX when you're gone, Bunny.
If you need me I will be in my pillow fort, reading the five library books I have checked out. And we may get family tattoos as well!

A week at Thanksgiving and not back until 1/8 with no kids. Students come back 1/9 and we are finished May 24.
Hope everyone enjoys their time off.
