Is there anyone applying to BRCC's nursing program for Fall 2016? I would like to talk to people who are so I don't feel so lonely.
Well my thinking is that the HESI overall scores will probably be lower because this is the first year that they have added the Biology portion. I don't know. I normally try not to read all of these threads because I always get discouraged. People make this amazing score and don't get in.. People make mediocre scores and get it. I don't even know what a "good" score is at this point. I am super nervous though!
3.88 if I end up with an A in A&P which is likely. 3.5 if a B.
96.4 on the HESI
The applicant pool has definitely been diminished this year because of how badly a lot of people did on the biology. I know several people who failed the biology and failed the HESI because of it, otherwise they would have been totally qualified applicants.
I agree, but at the same time if it were my program and my school, I would want to know with certainty that my graduates had at least a decent knowledge of the biological sciences before they even got accepted. Nursing is a science-based doctrine, and these are people's lives we're dealing with ultimately so it only makes sense to understand what's going on with them on a cellular level and that starts with basic biology. It does suck though. Some of my friends didn't make it in for this year's cycle because of that. But yeah, it makes it quite a bit easier to be accepted this go-round!
I agree with what you said about becoming close friends in nursing school. I hope all of us get in so we can meet each other and start a little support group, lol.
I'm a 100% sure you are in. With that GPA and Hesi score. You are golden! Hopefully we will be joining you.
and I agree with you about the biology thing. It's so true one day people's very lives will be in our hands. I know nursing school is going to be tough but I'm going to be committed to it. Hopefully we will all be in it together

Really? Honestly last year they accepted people with lower GPAs and Hesi scores, so we may be good. I'm just so anxious and this wait is killing me.
