BRCC NURSING 2016

Published

Is there anyone applying to BRCC's nursing program for Fall 2016? I would like to talk to people who are so I don't feel so lonely.

Really? Honestly last year they accepted people with lower GPAs and Hesi scores, so we may be good. I'm just so anxious and this wait is killing me.

Well my thinking is that the HESI overall scores will probably be lower because this is the first year that they have added the Biology portion. I don't know. I normally try not to read all of these threads because I always get discouraged. People make this amazing score and don't get in.. People make mediocre scores and get it. I don't even know what a "good" score is at this point. I am super nervous though!

You have a solid GPA though! I think you're in! I hope we all make it in the 60

Me too Brad!! Me too!!! I have 2 other people in my A&P class that are in this years applicant pool. We are kind of linking up and praying!!! It would be awesome if we were all in together! And also- Your GPA is great too!!

Prayer is soooo powerful! God brought us this far, regardless of what happens we will become RNs. And the best ones!

it would be awesome if we all got in. We can all study together sometime. We all would def become life long friends going through nursing school lol

That would be awesome! And I agree with you regarding Prayer!!

3.88 if I end up with an A in A&P which is likely. 3.5 if a B.

96.4 on the HESI

The applicant pool has definitely been diminished this year because of how badly a lot of people did on the biology. I know several people who failed the biology and failed the HESI because of it, otherwise they would have been totally qualified applicants.

That sucks but I must admit that would give us more of a chance of getting accepted.

I heard a lot of people failed because of the biology part being added to it.

i have a 3.8 and 86.8 on the Hesi I hope we all get in!

I agree, but at the same time if it were my program and my school, I would want to know with certainty that my graduates had at least a decent knowledge of the biological sciences before they even got accepted. Nursing is a science-based doctrine, and these are people's lives we're dealing with ultimately so it only makes sense to understand what's going on with them on a cellular level and that starts with basic biology. It does suck though. Some of my friends didn't make it in for this year's cycle because of that. But yeah, it makes it quite a bit easier to be accepted this go-round!

I agree with what you said about becoming close friends in nursing school. I hope all of us get in so we can meet each other and start a little support group, lol.

I'm a 100% sure you are in. With that GPA and Hesi score. You are golden! Hopefully we will be joining you.

and I agree with you about the biology thing. It's so true one day people's very lives will be in our hands. I know nursing school is going to be tough but I'm going to be committed to it. Hopefully we will all be in it together

Really?!?? I didn't know that the bio stumped so many people

Yeah it was pretty bad just judging from what I've heard from other people who took it. A lot of people struggled to finish in time so they rushed through it, or they didn't finish at all and auto failed. Some did great on the other sections but not on the bio
