Boy Nurses!

Published

Omg! I've always loved nurses who are comfortable with their masculinity! I love guy nurses! They are so brave! I heard recently that there is a lot of discrimination against male nurses wich is just ugly! You guys should just ignore the haters and keep doin what you're doing! :)

Actually I think Murse was inducted in the Dictionary as an official word. The definition was a male PURSE ..Sorry guys lol

I thought that was a "man-purse"...

Nursing is a profession of well-educated, adult professionals.

I don't think referring to adult men as "boys" does much to advance a positive, adult, professional image.

Perhaps a title other than "Boy Nurses" would be more appropriate for this thread.

Of course I would not want to be referred to as a "boy nurse" in a professional setting.

BUT given that I am 42, and given that the poster is 17 - I am flattered...

To the OP - watch out, men nurses can be curmudgeonly and it has been well documented that they eat their young.

LOL.....Hey, I am more then happy when we have "Macho Mondays" It's only happened once with me, a LPN, and a RN....so all 3 levels were represented!

I'm looking forward to the nights where we are going to be doing 3 nurses as guys...good nights....

I am more than comfortable being a man, and bring a welcome perspective to discussions(so I think)....and when I take care of "little old ladies" they love it when they have a young man taking care of em! Plus, the ones that I wash up at night get a (elvis, Johnny Cash, old music"some enchanted evening")serenade...one even got me to sing "Only you".....lol. good nights.

I think men nurses(and CNAs!) bring a welcome change to the female majority....we certainly do have some interesting conversations.
