Boston College Direct Master's Entry 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi all! Is anybody out there who applied to BC's Direct Entry program for fall 2017? The deadline is tomorrow, but I have no idea how their process works from here! I haven't found anything on the website. Best of luck to everyone!

Was just contacted for a brief chat/interview via email, I applied to the PMHNP specialty. From prior application cycle forums, it seems the Psych specialty candidates often are contacted for chats like this. Just a quick update, best of luck as we continue to wait.

I started a new job in August and made up my mind that I would not be applying to schools this cycle. Then I visited a friend in Boston late Oct and loved the city so I made the last minute decision to apply here!

The waiting is the hardest since I only have one school to hear back from and worry about

Congrats AquamarineHealing, that's awesome! I also applied to the PMHNP specialty, and I was contacted about pre-reqs and if I would have them done by June 30, but I have not heard anything since. Has anyone else been contacted about an interview via e-mail?

Anyone know when we will hear about decisions?!

Based on threads from previous years it looks like we will find out beginning to mid February...but I wouldn't mind finding out sooner :) !

Does anyone have a sense of how heavily they weigh GRE scores?

I've wondered this as well...though all I've gathered from their website is that accepted students usually have GRE scores >50th percentile. There isn't much info about what matters most/least/at all.

Has anyone been contacted lately for an interview? I didn't think BC did interviews, but I've read in previous years threads that some people do have them. Any thoughts?

I have not been contacted for an interview so I am not sure about that. I spoke to someone in admissions today regarding my change of address, and they let me know that admission decision letters will be e-mailed to us in mid-February

Hi everyone! Glad someone started this thread! I decided last minute to apply this year instead of waiting for next year.. I applied to MGH Institute and Northeastern for psych. Anyone else applying to these schools? I was contacted by Northeastern for a short phone interview a few weeks ago, but haven't heard anything else. I am constantly checking my online app!

I've applied to Northeastern too. I've been accepted thus far into Simmons College's direct entry FNP program as well as Emory U.'s ABSN one.

I applied to BC this year and I'm a little nervous because I applied to the PMHNP and haven't be contacted about an interview. They did email me about prerequisites back in November. Also is anyone else currently taking pathophysiology through university of New England? I've been thinking of dropping that course because I haven't been able to obtain a 5th edition access code because they don't make them anymore and no one can confirm if the 6th edition one would work for blackboard. I've spent a lot of money and without the access code I can't move forward with the course. I know pathophysiology is one of the requirements for bc, but I am seriously considering giving up on bc because of this whole experience. I am currently waitlisted for northeastern and have an interview with Yale. Haven't heard much from MGH other than they began the reviewing process for me this week. What are people's thoughts?
