Recently I called my college bookstore to get an idea of how much my books will cost. They gave me the titles of the books but would not give me the ISBN. Also, when I went in to get my psych book they told me it wasn't in yet and it could take up to the first day of class to get it. When I asked for the ISBN, they wouldn't give it to me.
Just how crazy is that? I was just wondering if this is the norm or do all colleges do this?
I have been looking online for a good place to buy my books. I didn't know about that half.com, what kind of shape are your books in when you buy them over the internet? Have you gotten them in pretty good shape? That is my only worry, that they will be so beat up, because your buying them sight unseen.
I go to bestwebbuys.com because when you search for the book it will bring up a bunch of places that has it (barnes and noble, half.com, amazon, and a bunch of others). It lists it in order of price and tells you new or used, then you just click on the website you want and read more/purchase it. I LOVE this website, I bought all of my books like this, and saved hundreds of dollars.

Mine have been in great shape. I guess you have to be willing to gamble a bit, though
. I got more than half my books online this semester, but there were a few that were actually cheaper in the bookstore because they bundled them. Check out the seller though; some have better reviews than others. I've found, for the most part, that they come in pretty quickly, too. In fact, I've got to go find another book on-line that my instructor told us the first day of class we would need, darn.
