I'm taking the entrance exam for LPN in January. Can any one recommend the best books to buy to study.
Kaplan Entrance Exam book was recommended but on Amazon it doesn't say if it's for LPN or RN, and according to some of the reviews, it seems more for RN entrance exams. It didn't get the highest ratings on Amazon.
I'm looking for study guides/books for LPN entrance exam.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Most LPN/LVN programs entrance test consists of basic math and english...so, there really is no book to prepare. If you go to Border's or Barnes and Noble, in their reference section there should be books there for entrance exams. Just ask the sales associate what you need and they will guide you.
Kaplan and other books are all for studying for the NCLEX I believe, but you need specific Nursing School Enterence Exam books. Also, check with your local library and see if they have any books that might help.
Best of luck to you.

LPN test math is straight out of any current GED math prep book. Probably the English is, too.
TEAS Test RN and LPN Pre-Entrance Format and look through some of the free questions there. When I took the LPN exam, the math was the thing I was the most rusty on, b/c I used calculators for everything in the work world and didn't have multiplication and division factors stored in my brain anymore.

Some LPN programs use Workkeys. Take a look at math, locating info, reading here WorkKeys | Online Practice Tests | ACT
WorkKeys | Search Jobs by Skills | ACT is scores needed.
Christine and Streamline;
Thank you so much. The Kaplan book didn't get good reviews. A few said it was overkill for the LPN entrance exam. It must be true. I'll check out the other methods of study you both mentioned.
Thanks again!!
