ok, I wanted to see if I could buy some books online to save some $. I checked the website to see what books I needed and they haven't posted them yet. I called and the response was that they don't know what they are going to use yet.... , come on, school starts Aug 23rd...they don't know what they are using yet??? Someone told me that they post last minute so that you have to buy them at the bookstore so they can make that extra $ from books. :angryfire I guess I will be stuck shelling out the outrageous cost for books...again. Anyone have a situation like that???

Welcome to nursing school! Everything will be last minute until you finish. They think it makes you a better nurse to be on your feet all the time, so everything last minute is good. I don't agree with it, but I roll with it. What choice do we have? I don't care how late the booklists come out, I always wait and compare prices online with the bookstore. :)

did you call the nursing office or the book store? I went through something similar a few months ago, now it's starting to wrap up. If you called the book store, call the nursing office and see if they know what books. If that doesn't work, see if you can snag a teacher and ask. After that who knows....

Wait till the last day if you can. They can do a rush shipping. Some colleges require students buy from the campus book store. The CC in my state requires ordering very expensive uniforms online for their program (from a specific company). I am talking 50 dollars for one pair of pants! Not 15 bucks from Wal- mart!

You are one lucky ducky, LarryG!
BTW Last year I bought all of the required books and what a waste! Some we never used at all! I am definitely NOT buying them all this year. Especially when the newer versions are published around New year's, rendering my copies useless by June. X-(
And how come nursing schools are so picky and pricey when there is such a shortage? :uhoh21:
