I have an interview Wednesday August 3, day after boards, at the Cleveland Clinic on the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. What questions should I ask specific to the unit and in general? Anything I should brush up on before then? Thanks

First off, good luck with your interview. I hope all goes well for you.
It's been a while since I worked on a BMT unit. Lots have changed, I am sure. But a few general questions come to mind:
I'm sure that there are more and better questions that can be asked. These are just a few off the top of my head. . . from a person who did BMT nursing many moons ago. . . . :imbar
Again, good luck! :)

But a few general questions come to mind:What's the orientation process? How long?Does the orientation process involve taking classes? (Besides taking a general oncology courses, we also took about a week's worth of BMT nursing courses as well. Understand it was a new program for that hospital at that time. . . oh so many years ago.)What's the general population of patients with cancer that go through the BMT program? Solid tumors (breast ca), leukemia, etc?? (I guess I would ask this type of question just out of general curiosity. "Our" BMT program worked mostly with Stage IV breast cancer patients. Of course this was 6+ years ago.)Other "curiosity questions" might include: Does the program do allogenic BMT's? What chemo and other treatment (conditioning) regimes are involved in the the program? What are the supportive regimes (antiemetic, pain managment, diversional therapy, etc)??I'm sure that there are more and better questions that can be asked. These are just a few off the top of my head. . . from a person who did BMT nursing many moons ago. . . . :imbar Again, good luck! :)Ted

Congratulations for both good news!! YEA!! :)
