BMCC Spring 2022

Published

Hi guys,

I am applying to the nursing program at bmcc for the Spring semester. I finished all my pre-reg except micro bio which I will be taking this fall. I am not sure if  I should apply for the day program or evening program, and was wondering if one is more competitive than the other. Also if anyone has any tips on how/what to study for the HESI I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Oh my, it’s about time she sent something out! LOL

Congrats to everyone!!  Can't wait to meet everyone in the evening section!

Day shift for me, also can’t wait to see every one!! Congrats!

Congrats to all - I’m in 3rd semester.

here is my unsolicited advice LOL - I wish someone  had told me

- don’t wait to order uniform it take a while I’m sure with COVID it’s longer

- you need a stethoscope

- order 2 name badges

- make sure you have BLS certificate and it’s in date

- don’t wait schedule a physical , you need proof of flu / COVID vaccine - hep B I think too . Titres of your immunization

- TB test

- you need a drug test they will tell you procedure

- make a file , copies of everything they will get lost and you will need them again . Take pictures photo copy whatever including your form for fit test mask

- go to the math workshop all of it

- Google fundamental of nursing watch registered nurse RN

- share resources with  your class mates we are only as strong as we are together .

-try figure out your note taking study methods etc etc . Don’t waste time when school starts

- do questions lots and lots of questions to review

- try stay on track

- practice taking vitals on real live ppl

- bring a note book pen and snack / lunch to clinical

- it’s expensive to lay out imma say 600-800 depending on what gear you like - books shoes uniform back ground check etc etc

Good Luck and congrats again !!

Thank you so much for these. And all the best in the 3rd semester.

Thank you so much this is great great advice!!  Hoping our meeting today will tell us everything exactly what and how they want it so we can start working on it.  We have to have BLS cert prior to starting school?!? I had mine from my emt days but that's long passed and expired LOL

Thank you for your tips they are so appreciated! If any more come up please share.

Awesome tips! Thank you NCCN!
