Hi, I am not certain I understand you. Did she tell you this yesterday? Today? a month ago? I am sure everyone is emailing her, maybe she didn't understand what you were asking? Would you have to apply in August for the next cohort, meaning Spring 20201? or for Fall 2020? Have you received any other emails from the admission office?

For Spring 2021, I applied for fall 2020 and spring2020 didn’t get in. Spring 2020 took the Kaplan and got 75%? So not sure where I stand, thinking about transferring to city tech and try my chances there.

Sorry to hear this. Did she call you or did you receive an email?

If you passed previous Kaplan exams but didn’t get into the program you can still retake- if you failed previous exams you only get two chances

I only received emails from her. Well I submitted my transfer already to city tech so if that doesn’t work out I can always transfer back to Bmcc if need be to apply again.

I haven’t received an email or zoom meeting- I would like some type of communication so I know where I stand

This was my second time applying- I feel like for the people who this is their second or third time applying we never stood a chance to begin with- they seemed to have only taken students with really high GPAs

I mean we didn’t stand a chance being that we didn’t have the option of taking the HESI- some of us needed that in order to get in ?

Yes, I hear you, I saw you on the board for Spring 2020...It is really so sucky for people who have a great GPA but still not high enough to get in, especially because there was no HESI due to COVID, it is very unfair. In the last couple of years CUNY programs have become so so competitive because they are affordable...with your GPA will can probably get into NYU and even tough it is expensive, perhaps you can check if they have a HEOP program that will pay for the entire tuition. This is Higher Education Opportunity Program for low income students and it's amazing. Many colleges have this program or similar ones. Try going both routes and if you get into a private perhaps you can apply for financial aid. I know that would be quite a lot of loans but will also be a time saver.

This are such tough times we are going through and the impossibility of taking the HESI during the pandemic put a lot of students at disadvantage. Do not give up!! I almost did and took a break from it alland in the last 3 years I have worked for such an abusive boss as a medical assistant that I took all my anguish, walked out on her and applied to nursing school. I was originally going to apply to PA school and put up with too much abuse while being stuck in a position I could not leave because I so needed my recommendation letter. At the end I realized I had wasted my time and that nursing is as great as PA so I made the move...

Good luck to you and hang in there, you got this! ❤️

Hi Ladyinwaiting,

I want to first congratulate you on your acceptance! I truly from the heart thank you for your touching message- it nearly brought tears to my eyes on how you encouraged me to keep going; after you got your acceptance you could have went about your business to celebrate but you instead took your time to send me an uplifting message- great qualification for a future nurse :).

Im always happy to hear that a fellow Medical Assistant made it into the program- being a Medical Assistant myself I know the struggle is real LOL- I work at NYU for the past 10 years it would be great if they offered us free admission to the school such as they do for the medical doctors LOL.

I wish you the best of luck in the program and wish you much success in your future career as a Registered Nurse!

Hi:) I applied for a job at NYU as an MA about 6 months ago because they would pay for my nursing tuition. But during the interview I was told I had to work there for at least 6 months-2 years? and then I would have to apply for NYU nursing and that they would pay for it??? I did not get the job and I am glad because having 200 patients per day would kill me. There are some advantages to working for a large institution, at least you got 401k, days off. Are they not willing to pay for your nursing school? Have you met w HR lately? In the small practices I worked at, I was never paid for a day off, no sick days, no bonuses, no vacation or national holidays. And had to hear a ton of bs including personal stuff from the providers and one of them always threw a fit every time she handed me my pay check saying that she is broke and so on, while she is actually a millionaire with her patients being well known politicians and business men who basically run the world behind the scenes. I just could not take it any more.... I would say definitely go to HR and ask again about what education benefits you can get. I think medical assistants have it pretty tough, in large hospitals they see a ton of patients and often do the job of a nurse in small practices while we earn so little, working long hours and take all the blame. I really wish you get into nursing school asap and please keep us posted. Go see HR like, tomorrow!

Evening meeting accepted! CONGRATS everyone ?

Congratulations to us...

does anyone receive the agreement and conpliance contract?

I haven’t got the contract yet . She said soon . The most important is that we’ve been admitted . Probably she is taking her time .

You’ve received yours ?????
