BMCC FALL 2019

Published

Hey everyone!!

Who is applying for BMCC Fall 2019?

When are you taking the test?

Not as well as I was hoping, but I'm glad its over with. I ended up with a 74. I kept trying to remind myself to relax lol

Looking at a thread from last year looks like a lot of people with 70s in the Kaplan and good gpas made it. I think a lot of people fail altogether ?

I know, but there are A LOT of applicants this time around, so it just really gets me nervous lol

Me too ? I feel like my gpa for pre reqs is weaker than a lot of people here... hey can you pm me Arlinda? Or find me of Facebook, same name that way I have your contact info

Hello everyone,

the gpa is only from pre req ? Or from your overall gpa?

I think only for the pre reqs, but if theres a lot of students they check overall. I guess it just depends how many students applied and passed the Kaplan.

They use a score to rank you. So 30% is from your PCI which are your 4 main science courses, 30% from your overall gpa and 40% from your kaplan score. Then they go down the list and give calls to the top 81 scores that’s how it was explained to me

What are the pci courses

The PCI is your eng 101, psy 100, mat 104, and bio 425

Hi guys,

Good luck on the results! Just curious, what resources did you guys study from? I'm taking the exam ending of this year for the Spring day program 2020 and since I've completed all pre-reqs. and just taking light classes, I've decided to start studying from now. Any resources that helped a lot for you guys? I have the Kaplan review book already but wanted to see if there is any other resources you found useful. Thanks so much!

p.s. How was the test, btw?

I feel like it’s not the kind of thing you can really truly study for. I would definitely go over fractions. Adding them, multiplying them turning them to percents and percents to fractions. I would look at some ACT practice tests for the reading/writing portion. As far as the science, it was mostly basic stuff from A and P 2. I would definitely know blood flow through the heart, fluid compartments, what happens in asthma stuff like that. Maybe the most important is looking at timing yourself. I think if you are the type that takes the whole time in class to complete tests this may feel a little different. You don’t want to run out of time , which I heard happened to a couple friends of mine. It’s not as bad as I thought going in. Good luck!

Do you think we’ll hear something next week?
