BLS expiration date

Hi,

I have the BLS for healthcare providers card. I know I have to recertify every two years, however it does not specify a specific date. Do I have to recertify before the issued month, or is it valid until the end of the month?

I am totally clueless.

My AHA BLS card states the specific issue date. It also gives a recommended general "renewal date" but it should be renewed within 2 years of the issue.

One of my BLS cards only specified the month as well. My hospital and my nursing program both recognized this as the last day of the month. I took a 2 hour renewal class on the 30th of that month and now my current card explicitly states the 30th.

Ok, I assumed it would be until the month, but I wanted to double check.

Mine reads 2.2011..no mention of if its the 1st of the month or the last of the month. My facility is taking it as the end of the month.
