Hi all,

Im new to this. I wanted to know who is applying for Bloomfield College Nursing program for the fall. What is your GPA and Teas score. Also if you guys have any info on thr program that you want to share please let me know :)

Dont give up... You got this trust me you will get into a school.

Specializes in Cardiothoracic & NICU.

@Child of god oh okay , I was wondering if they were still having 2 professors teach that class . I had her and another professor for 215 .

To everybody who got into the program, I will warn you , 215 was easy for me but I've seen a lot of people fail that class . So don't take it easy ! I can't tell you guys how to study for her tests because I don't know if she's co-teaching or not. The first year is where you'll lose a lot of people!

My class started out w. over 70 students , now in senior year we have a little over 30 students . The seniors last year graduated with close to 30 and the year before that the graduating class was about 17 .

Congrats MelaninQueen. My gpa is a 3.0, and I scored 70 on teas...

Child Of God, I called my advisor and she told me. If they added 5 more or even 3 more people I wouldve been in. Just my luck right smh.

But Im really happy for you all that got in and Alexis youre very kind to give as much info as you have been and even now to the ones who got in.

I want everybody to succeed ! I was new to the nursing program at one point so I know how it is . I was thankful to have the seniors give me advice and so I want to do the same.

@queenlis If nursing is what you really really want don't let that put you down. You can stay at BC and take classes (such as stat) in order to boost your GPA and try again next year. Or you still can try other school William Patterson is still enrolling and they don't ask people to take the teas; or caldwell (its expensive but it worth it)

@alexis that is really nice of you. I really appreciate

Thank you Child of God I will deff look into all three options and no I will not give up!

@alexis_brickcity: Thanks for all your tips and tricks. Could you explain what the first semester is like ? What should we expect from the classes? How to study ?

First semester will be your easiest semester . You'll have 215 which is Nursing Foundations and 235 which is Health Assessment. 215 is basically the old saying "you don't know where you're going , if you don't know where you came from". You'll learn the history of nursing, general policies of nursing, etc.. When I took the class, like I said it was 2 professors so they made the tests together. For studyin, I don't know how Dr. T is going to make her tests. I had her with Professor P. You better know everything they go over in class , especially if they spend a lot of time on it!

For 235, it's your actual clinical class, you'll learn the basic stuff like normal ranges for temp., heart rate, respirations, the basic stuff about common conditions, etc. Professor S(I think she miqht be Dr.) is a really qood teacher and she's a sweetheart. For her tests, she tells you exactly what you need to know so pay attention ! And she's gives you study guides.

Word of advice: for all your nursing classes , READ ! Read before you come to class so you're aren't sitting there lost ! The chapters will be long and sometimes super boring but you really need to stay up on your reading because you can easily fall behind. You'll have a lot of other things to do for your labs and if you're takin other classes so you don't want to start drowning.

@alexis_brickcity

What day would you recommend for clinical?... I chose Wednesday but I think I want to switchn

@melaninqueen do you have lab once a week or twice a week

@child of God

I chose to put both labs on Wednesday so I could have like Mondays and Fridays to study but now I'm thinking of separating them because I also wanted to get my public health degree and their classes are on wednesdays .. how did you set up your clinical schedule ?
