Hi all!
I have a question maybe you all can help me with, as I am not yet a nurse. My father had his labs done not too long ago and all came back perfect. No high cholesterol, triglycerides, nothing. Anyway, he recently had a phlebectomy, a relatively non invasive outpatient procedure. Ever since he says he has been very tired, with marked fatigue and SOB on exertion..even walking down his driveway. I told him that he needs to make sure to tell the doctor this and he is going to tomorrow when he gets the other leg worked on.
It just got me thinking about the possibilites. Blood clot related to the procedure? But then I started thinking about a blocked artery but wondered, can you get blocked arteries w/o having high cholesterol??? He has had high BP in the past, but am unsure if he does now, I don't think so.... He describes himself as "not feeling right" since the procedure, round 'bouts. With fatigue and muscle aches, even of his arms...??
Any thoughts?

I don't really know what is wrong with him. But to answer your question yes you can get blockages with low cholesteral. I have seen many people that has had bypass surgery with low or normal chol. levels.
We'll see what the doctor says. Thanks again!
