Blinn Spring 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I am applying to the Spring 2020 semester for the ADN program at Blinn College in Bryan, Texas. I wanted to create this post because I wanted to see if anyone else is applying there too! I am feeling a bit discouraged because I didn't do as well as I hoped on the TEAS today. I got a 74.7, which is still in the proficient category but not the best score. I have a 3.57 GPA. Who else is applying?!

Hey, I applied as well! Waiting anxiously for a response from them! I'm hoping to hear back this week since I have to do that FAFSA appeal for already having a Bachelor's ?. Do you guys know if we will receive an email or physical letter?

I have to do that appeal too! I think we will receive an email but I’m not sure. Just curious, what’s your Bachelor’s Degree in? ?

I got mine in Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in Medical Microbiology! How about you?

Oh that’s awesome! I got mine in Public Health with an emphasis in Health Science. What made you want to go into nursing after already having a Bachelor’s Degree?

Thanks! Yours sounds fancy too! And I had worked in a dermatology office for the past two years and decided it would be cool to open up my own practice (thought not sure what type yet) as an NP. I like more direct patient care than the at-the-bench of microbiology. How about you?

How did you do stats wise with the things they want ! Super excited another person is applying with a bachelors degree too!

Stat wise I think I did okay! I scored a 84.7% on the TEAS, so I'm hoping that will compensate for that a bit since my GPA isn't the highest

That’s cool! So do you want to get a BSN after Blinn and then for an NP you need a doctorate’s right? Or just master’s? I’ve always wanted to be a nurse. I didn’t get into the nursing program at the school I went to so I changed my major to something that had similar classes to the nursing prerequisites I took and I could still graduate on time. So I’m trying again with nursing!

Has anyone heard back yet??

no i didn't get the exact same, but the idea was. i just practiced ALOT of questions for parts i didn't do well on the first time and it helped a lot. i think i was so nervous first time taking it i didn't do as well but doing it a second time i didn't feel like i was going in blind.

I haven't heard back yet! This wait is very nerve-racking. I saw on the Blinn Fall 2019 thread a person heard back two days before the deadline

Oh okay that makes sense. Where did you get the practice questions? What do you mean the idea was the same?

I did pocket prep, so i just paid the 14 dollars and you get 1000 practice questions that are the same concept as the test. And when i mean same idea, it may be a different topic in reading but the question of the summary or main idea is the same. So you just have to understand how to answer the question no matter what topic it is. I also had a TEAs study book that had like helpful hints when answering questions on the test.
