I've noticed that there is one post from 2008 asking about Blinn nursing school. I figured I'd give this a shot anyways. I was accepted into the Blinn nursing program for fall 2010. I was wondering if there was anyone else on the site that was accepted into this program as well? Anyone in my class? Anyone with experience/advice about Blinn? I'd like to know what I need to do/buy and what may be more of a waste of money (like half of the books that I bought for classes in my bachelor degree were useless). Anyways, I hope to hear from someone! lol
This is my first semester of Nursing School at blinn so I took the TEAS IV last spring. My GPA when I applied was a 3.43 and my TEAS score was a little above average, can't remember exactly the score now. The essay portion has checked over the years this last time I was given "what qualities makes a good nurse" but other friends that took it with me had all kinds of different ones, I think one friend had something about a good and bad event in a health care setting that you experienced. I would highly recommended that 1) you complete all 9 classes necessary to apply (each class is worth 1 point, so if you haven't taken A&P II because you hope to take it during first semester just get it out of the way 2) go see the secretary Ms.P she has been with the program for a very long time and is very helpful.
i know that on the application for blinns Pre Reqs for the nursing program doesn't have anything about CHEMIs the Pre Req requirements on the web site up to date?
Because it seems to good to be true.
please if anyone could help!
I'm currently a third semester in this particular program and Chem was not a pre req for admission. The following, from my understanding, are the classes you need to apply for the ADN program:
1. College Algebra
2. General biology
3. Microbiology
4. A&P I
5. A&P II
6. English
7. General Psychology
8. Life span development
9. Fine arts/ humanities elective.

The essay is about what you think the qualities of a nurse should have, what qualities of a nurse you have, and what your career goals are (that's the gist of it). The cut off GPA depends on who applies. My pre-reqs were from A&M so my GPA was lower than some of my other classmates'. My friend in the class was in the same circumstances. We both had degrees prior to applying. My overall TEAS score was 88% which was the top 99% in the country so I imagine a "B" will do the job.
