I am making this thread to chat with others who have applied to Blinns ADN program for Spring 2024.

It most definitely is required. You need a positive test. I've had all Hep B shots as a kid, got a titer test the day the nursing application opened, my test came back like a week later and it was negative immunity with 3.5 as my quantity, got 1 single booster shot out of the 3 dose series, retested again in December and my number was 1000+. The nurse that gave it to me said she had the same issue when going into nursing school and she spoke with a Hep B specialist that told her Hep B's immunity can be asleep and the booster shot should trigger it and be well within range if you had to test again. I talked to Cindy before my titer in Dec was back and she said if you don't have the hep b done, you can still start the program but need to be on top of getting it all done asap and to make sure you're communicating with the ADN email. Karla is very very strict with the deadlines. Be proactive.
(when I got my first titer in Aug with it being negative, I didn't turn that in or show that result at all. I waited till my second titer showed immunity. I didn't complete the entire 2 or 3 dose series. 1/3 got me more than where I needed to be and they've accepted my titer test info already. I showed my records from the 3 shots as a kid and then the booster shot and the titer in Dec and I was fine)

Hello,
what ore reqs did you guys ha e to take.before applyig What were your pre reqs?
Hi!
The prereqs that we were required to have were A&P 1, general psychology, Microbiology, and an English composition class. Those courses were the bare minimum for us to apply to the program. There are other courses like A&P 2, lifespan development, and an ethics course that we are required to take later on within the ADN degree plan but, if they're taken before we apply, are worth extra points towards your application. I'll attach the advising worksheet that was sent to me by Kate that breaks down each section of the rating scale that they use for admission!

No, they definitely won't have all the selections from the alternate list by Monday. There's a few other factors that are going into who's even getting accepted from the alternate list other than just your rank on the list.. they'll have the first selections from the alternate list before 5pm tomorrow, but that won't be the only round.
