Black North Face Jackets

Does anyone know where you can get the black North Face Jackets that you see Nurses wearing? I'm looking to get run. Also, what should I expect to pay for it?

Are you allowed to wear the North Face jackets at your hospital? (Place of business) Do they have to be North Face? Our policy states that they have to be a black North Face Fleece.

We are only allowed to wear white or solid color scrub jackets (like royal blue if you are a nurse). Some people will coats behind the nurses station because they are still cold but they take them off before going in patients' rooms. I would also not wear something so expensive personally that could get ruined by guts and blood. With the scrubs, you can send it to the laundry services and hopefully get it back or just order another one for 20 bucks.

Back when I was in college, they were expensive. Usually around 75+ for the jacket. I know they are at sporting good stores around the holidays so they should be getting them in soon. Are they trying to be hip? I would also find out if they can be fleece or other material because they have a variety of material. At the website, it looks like the cheapest one is 90 dollars.

North Face has a website but I think they are cheaper at Dick's Sporting Goods or a hunting good's shop. I also think you can get them on eBay but be careful of imitation products.

And no, I have never heard of anyone requiring North Face before. However, if the policy says it has to be North Face then chances are it has to be. I would find out if there is a discount that the hospital gets for them though through certain suppliers.

I would freeze before spending 90 dollars on one jacket to wear at work. If I bought one, which I may if I get my target weight next year, I would wear it outside of work. Plus people and patients may steal it because it is North Face.

Thank you for all the advice! I'm going to see if we can wear the scrub jackets. I'm not sure why it says north face fleece. Perhaps they just meant black fleece and used North Face since it's the typical one you see. I'll have to clarify. You brought up a lot of good points that I never thought of. Thanks for making me think about it before just going and dropping the money on it!

I personally like Columbia and while they can still be pricey, they are usually 1/2 the cost of North Face. I would still wonder about whether you are supposed to wear the fleece or the other material that is kind of like the fleece but not really. It's more of a shell.

I have a The North Face Apex Bionic jacket that I keep in the backseat of my truck. It's a great all weather jacket. Is that what you're talking about? Usually, I wore a Columbia fleece at work because they're much cheaper and thus more disposable and more washable. Wash that TNF jacket too much, and it'll wear out.
