Biopsy scar and IV question

Published

Hello! I have a question about my biopsy scar that I have on my hands. I hope it's okay to ask about it here. I had a skin problem on my hands and the hospital asked to have a biopsy, they took it from where they usually insert IV there near my knuckles, it was easier for them to numb the area and it left scars on my both hands.

My question is, if I'm going to have IV when I get sick in the future (I hope not, but who knows), is it okay that they insert the needle there through that scar skin tissue or not? because that's where my vein is. I keep thinking about it.

I'm not a nurse, but few weeks ago I was reading about nursing out of curiosity and I've found this forum. I read some topics here in my free time :)

Thank you
