Has anyone taken it? If so, how did you do? Would you suggest taking it online or on site?

Calhoun Comm. College seems to be doing more and more of this lately. Personally it's not something I would recommend; nor is it something that I've ever heard a good comment about by those who have done it (at least here at Calhoun). I would only recommend it if you have taken online courses in the past and prefer them over regular, in-class sessions.
I took BIO 201 & BIO 202 on-site in 2005 with Mr. Russell. Had an awesome time; really enjoyed it. I attempted to audit both of those classes this past summer just to refresh my memory before my first nursing semester started - however - on the first week of each class I learned that even as regular on-site classes, most of the work was assigned and expected to be done online. Also most of the lecturing was done online...(even though they were NOT online classes..??!!) So I ended up dropping my audit of those classes, simply because it seemed like too much of a waste of time and money.
As fate would have it, Calhoun also decided to completely demolish their Decatur-campus science building over the summer. That was kinda sad...I had so many good nerd-memories from that building.
But anyway - to answer your question - no, I would not recommend it personally. Unless you already are comfortable with online courses and prefer to do it that way.
Thanks! That is exactly what I was afraid of. I am not fond of trying to learn the bones. However, bio's are the only thing I am missing to go into the LPN-RN mobility program. Thanks again!
No problem! Are you doing this at Calhoun by chance?

I'm an LPN, working on pre-reqs for LPN-RN mobility.I have taken and enjoyed both BIO 201 and 202 online at Snead State in Boaz. Made A's in both as well. Had a great teacher. Very accessible, answered e-mails quickly, had office hours so that you could go in to see her if needed, as well as offered on campus study times for such things as muscles/bones, etc (which I definately took advantage of!!) I plan to take Micro online in the spring. All of my classes so far have been online- A's except for a B in speech. I think it is better however, to take a less important class first. I took a religion class online to get a feel for the way things are done. This will let you know if online is for you. Some people do have trouble, and there's nothing wrong with that, everyone just learns differently. Good luck to you.
