does anybody have any idea when will this economy pickup? been jobless for 3 months now and it's driving me nuts.. thought that if i pass the nclex then everythng will fall into place.. but it's not.. it's out of wack.. and no matter what i do.. already sent tons of applications..called nursing recruiters, even went to hospitals and nsg facilities, care homes etc personally.. but still no luck.. it is really depressing.. and i thought that passing the nclex was hard enough :crying2: iam so heartbroken...

this economy bites!! how will I ever get an experience if no one is willing to give me one... I don't get it.. what's the use of studying this course if afterwards you wouldn't be able to apply what you have learned because no one's willing to give you a break..

Look up all the LTC/SNF/Rehab facilities in your area by checking into the Medicare website. Its what my wife and I did, once we did that we quickly found jobs. Many smaller LTC/SNF/Rehab facilities do not have websites and do not advertise so they are not easy to find.

Thanks for the info. Tried calling some of the places listed near my city. No luck on vacancies, but I'm not giving up. Badly need to get a job before this month ends, or else, I'll enroll on a CNA course.

Check with your State's BON before enrolling.

It is highly not advised to practice below the highest license you have and in some States, not allowed.

Even if they do not have vacancies you should still be applying, and calling, and visiting in person, at LEAST once a week.

Its tough but hang in there. It took me 5 months to get a job and living off my credit card to support myself. It is what it is. You must keep on applying, volunteering, and taking courses to pad your resume. Get your name out there. I live in the bay area and somehow manged. Market is extremely tough, no one is going to help you but yourself.
