how big are your offices?

I loved MHDNURSE's topic about where your offices are located. I didn't realize that so many people have various locations and set ups throughout their building.

This has left me to wonder HOW BIG are your offices?

I have a small office, maybe 10ft x 10ft. I guess it could be smaller, but I often dream about knocking down a wall to get a little extra space in here.

Unless your office is very small or very large, size is not a factor. What's most important is how you use your office. The office is only one factor of the care giving process.

Both of mine are big. I don't have a measuring tape, but I could probably do like 8-10 cartwheels from the door to the other side of my office. I'm tall and ungraceful so these take up a bit of room. Maybe I'll try later and get back to you all, ahaha

I am officially requesting video evidence of the 8-10 cartwheel sized office ?

Cartwheel distance is now the only accepted form of distance measurement.

Going to a neighbor's? About 30 cartwheels.

Driving across state? 30,000-35,000 cartwheels. Depends on traffic.

My clinic his huge, its about 900 square feet and I have 5 rooms. The greeting area where my assitant sits, my office, a huge treatment area, 2 rooms where students can wait for parents, not counting my huge storage closets and 2 bathrooms. I have a prismatic skylight in my office, and don't need any lights on on sunny days like today. I have rainbows on my walls, love them!

Oh my goodness! I am sooooo jealous, this is better than a lot of Dr. offices I've seen!!

If you can picture a regular sized elementary classroom divided into 4 sections - I have one of those sections. Maybe one cartwheel big, but I'd have to move stuff. All one room, no privacy or bathroom. Next year however, our new school will be done, along with my new nurse's office.

My office is small ... and I share my office with the PE Coaches (My school was built without a clinic). I do feel at times as if it is cluttered. It is tight but we do make it work.

My clinic is a decent size, but is pie-shaped. I have my treatment room, where my assistant sits, a large office with windows into the treatment room, 2 cot rooms, a bathroom, and a storage room where I keep my fridge, freezer, and microwave.

The health office I'm in to day is probably the smallest, it's about 6' wide and about 10'. the biggest one is only about 3 years old it's about 10' wide by about 15' long. The others vary in size. 2 of the health offices are converted administrative offices one was built in the early 1900s, it's roomy, but most of it is used for storage so I only have access to my desk and the cot. Only 2 of the 5 have sinks and only 1 of the five has a bathroom.

Of the schools I go to the offices range from 200sf+/- to about 400 s/f. Most are single rooms with a bathroom, and the majority have windows. A few have shower facilities that are usually full of extra clothes. (having a kid shower would be a considerable undertaking before you even get to soap, shampoo, towels and clean clothes.) One has a separate med room, another has a side room with a cot and all the extra clothes.

Only one has a truly lame desk. everyone else has desks galore. One office has a TA who comes and helps out, another has an administrative assistant who does attendance, sports admin stuff and who helps me out by asking incredibly useful questions of the 7th-12th graders at this school. In another office I'm inside the elementary office and the school secretary is an absolute gem. (actually they all are, but this gal...is superb!)
