BHSN: Applying to Bridgeport Hosp for Fall 2013

Hi All,

I thought I would start a new topic for those of us who are planning to apply to BHSN's Nursing program for the Fall 2013.

I will get things started with my stats (which aren't great...but not too terrible!):

TEAS - 78% (planning to re-take)

GPA - 3.2 (currently)

I also applied to GWCC and Southern, so hopefully I will get into one of these programs!

Hi, i also applied to NCC to both their Nursing and Respiratory care program as a backup. How do you like being a Respiratory therapist? Was the program hard?

Sofia Hines: I love being a Respiratory therapist!! It's an awesome profession and the money is really good! But after working In the field for a few years, I fell in love with Advance practice registered nursing(aprn). I could do a bridge program Rt to RN but I can't do online classes :(. So I have to do it the looooooong way! Lol

Hello everyone! I'm new the forum but I figured I could give some insight. I sent in my application for BHSN on January 25. I emailed the admissions director about my status on Feb 15 and got back to me very fast and she said it was still under review. But I just got my acceptance letter a couple days ago!

NurseKay: You have great stats, I only have a 3.4 GPA, had a 72 on my TEAS and I have already finished all of the pre-requistes and co-requisites. I think you have a great chance of getting in, especially since you have better stats and good refrences! I wish everyone luck!

Hi everyone, I'm new to this as well...Just got my acceptance letter and looking forward to meeting many of you!!! Thought it would be nice to meet up with anyone interested before the fall. It would be nice to see a familiar face the first day of classes! Let me know! :)

I also put my application in on the 25th of jan and still no answer. I emailed the admissions director last friday and still no reply. Sooooo im guessing thats not good lol. Did your status online every change from sayin under review?

Thankyou! And my status online never changed. It still say under review as of Feb 15th. I wouldn't worry quite yet! I read a thread from last year, some people didn't get their acceptance letters until April or May. I'm sure they got a lot of applications in towards the end and even more coming in now. I just went on BHSN's website and now the final date is feb 28th for people who needed to submit any remaining materials to their application. So keep your head up!

NurseKay, I wouldn't be worried. They have TONS of applications to get through, and there are only a few people in their office to look through them all, so it will take some time.

You have a great GPA, and a 78 on the TEAS is a good score! So take a deep breath and positive thoughts! You will get in!

(I know it's easier said than done.)

I got quite a scare yesterday. I received an email from the school asking that my TEAS transcript be sent to the school. I sent it back on Jan. 20th, so they should have it!!! I emailed them, and they emailed me back right away....saying that they had a copy of my transcript! I honestly nearly passed out!! Is that crazy?? I want this SO badly! You have no idea what I've been through in the last couple of years trying to get into this school! I want it more than anything right now. I just hope I don't have a coronary before I find out if I'm in or not!! LoL!!
